• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2024 RT limited and I’m experiencing the main display going blank - any ideas to fix?

@Peter Aawen - Appreciate you chiming in. I can double check cranking voltage next time I open the battery compartment. I have a tender/accessory cable to install at some point, that will involve more covers off for proper routing. Reading about other dealers not charging for warranty...

2024 RT limited and I’m experiencing the main display going blank - any ideas to fix?

Thanks @Spyderrg. Sounds like I need to visit a different dealer and see if they have any better luck getting BRP to cover things. I changed the battery as a troubleshooting exercise, just in case it is causing the display “issues”. Lithium will hold its voltage better than lead-acid. Lithium...

2024 RT limited and I’m experiencing the main display going blank - any ideas to fix?

Yes, I did fully charge the lithium battery to the recommended 14.6 volts before installing. I did not bother checking the voltage drop at the battery while cranking - it cranked over significantly faster than the factory battery. My display failures have happened at random times - never at...

2024 RT limited and I’m experiencing the main display going blank - any ideas to fix?

Replaced the battery with a NOCO NLP20 this week to troubleshoot the issue from a battery perspective. Running at full load - all the heated stuff on, results in an idle voltage output of 14.21. Revving the engine will get it up to 14.4 volts. These measurements were taken at the switched 12...

2024 RT limited and I’m experiencing the main display going blank - any ideas to fix?

Did you ever find a solution? My 2024 has blanked 3 times now and there is an error about the cluster losing communication in the log. The dealer charged me an hour of diagnostics time and tightened the battery terminals, but did nothing else. Today, it blanked for the first time since the...

Anyone else get this Howling Noise? What's the fix?

The holes in that pulley look suspect with making noise. Not really sure why they are there, unless to remove some mass. Seems like if they were plugged, it would be quieter.

Anyone else get this Howling Noise? What's the fix?

Finally got around to installing the LaMonster belt tensioner. Got my education on removing side covers in the process! I did not think anything could be more involved than my 2018 Goldwing was, nod to Can Am on cover complexity... On balance, air filters are fast on the Can Am versus 4 hours on...

Anyone else get this Howling Noise? What's the fix?

It looks white, but, if I order the Lamonster tensioner I will get a better look with the panels off. Hopefully a part number on the belt will confirm if the belt was replaced with the newer type. Document link I shared with the dealer for belt replacement...

Anyone else get this Howling Noise? What's the fix?

@Peter Aawen - thanks for the detailed reply. Some of the things mentioned I have some awareness of from previous web searches. It actually has a white pulley now. I will do a deeper dive here and also contact BRP to see if they will confirm some of the cases the dealer did submit, like if...

Anyone else get this Howling Noise? What's the fix?

Needing earplugs to make a piercing whine attenuate to avoid a headache is one solution I suppose. On the other hand, if this is perfectly normal - as my possibly "gaslighting dealer" is suggesting - how is Can Am successfully selling these vehicles with built in deficiencies?

Anyone else get this Howling Noise? What's the fix?

What is the situation here? How widespread is the issue with the resonance? Has anyone had success curing this?

Did you have a tensioner on yours stock?

Anyone else get this Howling Noise? What's the fix?

2024 RTL Update on various issues. The dealer finally said the resonating noise between 45-51 MPH was normal and if I wanted them to look further, then they would have to charge a diagnostic fee of 1 hour labor that might or might not be warranted by BRP. I also had my display go out for the...

Anyone else get this Howling Noise? What's the fix?

Update - the dealership got the second panel, under BRP warranty, and it was missing the piece as well. It appears you are correct about it being made that way. The tech simply installed it again with no thought as to whether it solved anything. BRP approved the part, apparently their...

Anyone else get this Howling Noise? What's the fix?

@Snowbelt Spyder, they told me that the correct piece was now on order. It will be interesting to see if it actually comes with the “missing piece”. - The manual screenshots show the same number of attachment points for both right and left service panels… Very sad indeed.
