• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

I think I will do this as well. WiFi never connects anyway so it's pointless to have it try every time I start it up. I'll just re-add my home WiFi next time I know there's an update out. It takes me 10-20 attempts to get this lousy thing to connect to my WiFi anyway. I have had better luck...

Are there any good sources for Touch Up Paint for RT's?

That was the first place I ordered from but the color is way off and unusable. They refunded me at least. Ordered a 2nd one from Touchup Direct, hopefully it's closer.

Are there any good sources for Touch Up Paint for RT's?

They don't list Deep Marsala for a 2024 but I wrote to them anyway to see if they can make it. I also found it on GeniColor, a Canadian site but their web site is broken and won't let me order it. I emailed them too. Thanks!

Are there any good sources for Touch Up Paint for RT's?

Is there anywhere that sells touch-up paint for the Spyder RT? I have a 2024 RT, in Deep Marsala Metallic. I ordered some from Scratches Happen, but it's so far off that I can't use it. They said "sorry" and refunded me at least. Any other sources for touch-up paint? Took a nasty set of chips on...

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

When it works, which is most of the time, it's great. Being able to stream Apple Music, or SiriusXM while having on-screen navigation to my destination is so nice. I just moved too so I am not that familiar with the area once I leave my local spots.

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

Rode for 5 hours yesterday, including a few stops along the way. ACP worked perfectly. So I really don't think it's the iOS beta, since it works fine in multiple vehicles, and it is about as reliable (other than that one freeze/reboot glitch) as usual. Didn't even get the customary head unit...

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

True. But the head unit has frozen up on me in the past when I was not. But never 3 times in a row like this time. ACP works fine in my two cars with the beta iOS as well. Obviously, I can't rule out the beta, but it will be on everyone's phones in less than a month, so if iOS 26 is causing...

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

Battery is a year old, AGM from Batteries Plus. Engine spins right up with enthusiasm :) I do keep it on a NOCO in the colder months, or if I haven't ridden it in a week I'll toss it on. But the bike was ridden a good amount yesterday, so unless the battery is on its very last legs, it should...

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

Took it out today for lunch. First time, ACP locked up about 30 seconds into the ride. Pulled over, shut down the bike, waited for it to go cold. Then I started back up. Second time, ACP locked up again 30 seconds after start-up. Pulled over yet again, and restarted. Third time, ACP froze up...

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

I suspect a failsafe as you say. There's no way it could have downloaded new firmware while on the road and I never saw the expected firmware updating warnings/screen either. This thing is fickle enough trying to get on my home WiFi and download an update, there's zero chance it did it on its...

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

Seems fine. I replaced the crappy factory one with an AGM from Batteries Plus a year ago.

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

I was 100 miles from home when this oddness happened and had been riding for a few hours. No idea how it could have possibly sucked down an update. And there were no update progress dialogs, usually it goes black and there's a status bar going across the screen. Definitely not like any other...

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

So I was on the highway today, and the CarPlay display froze up. It's happened a few times before, but usually within 30 seconds or so of starting up. This was 20 minutes into a highway ride. No biggie, I figured I'd switch over to the normal gauge display for a bit. Then the entire screen froze...

BRP Connect Ver 4.1 is now available

CarPlay won't be available without seeing a BlueTooth headset (or microphone at least). I am pretty sure I was able to send the audio to the Spyder speakers before with ACP, as long as I had the headset working. I will try it again later after upgrading to 4.1

Apple CarPlay - the good, the bad, and the really ugly

Knock on wood, but my ACP has been working pretty well. Had to get a new headset, since my older Cardo was BT 4.x and was useless. Since I got a cheap Gearelec headset, ACP works pretty nicely. I have had one or two occasions where ACP "froze up" about 30 seconds after it connected. Had to shut...
