• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear tire options - any suggestions?

@JayBros that's what I want, also, a good touring "sneaker" for my bike, which I bought for touring. I don't want to have to stop mid-tour for a tire change. So far, the General Altimax and the Vredenstein tires seem to be the best compromise between longevity, performance, availability and cost...

Can anyone with a Big Blue Lift provide advice on my lifting issues?

That's good to know, thanks. I did lose some bearing balls, but that may be easier to rectify.

Can anyone with a Big Blue Lift provide advice on my lifting issues?

Some follow on notes... First, I learned the hard way to use caution when lowering the lift so it doesn't go past the point of no return. Busted the bearing at top of post and need to figure out a replacement from the aftermarket. Does anyone know how to do that? With the bike back on the...

Can anyone with a Big Blue Lift provide advice on my lifting issues?

I couldn't find a piece of rubber for the top of the front mount, so used a couple pieces of nonslip stair tread left over from an RV project. It has good grip.

Can anyone with a Big Blue Lift provide advice on my lifting issues?

Okay, it's done. I put yellow tape along the spine so I could mark where the front mount would contact the spine. I loosened the rear mount on the BB main lift arm, so I could move that to where it would support the Spyder rear shock bottom bracket. I positioned the BB to where it would...

How many Spyder Riders have had a Hip replacement? How does it work for you?

Neither one. Dr. Tim Burton. He had his own independent medical group Utah Hip and Knee Center. The surgery took place at LDS Hospital, which is just where he chose to do his surgeries. He has since retired.

Can anyone with a Big Blue Lift provide advice on my lifting issues?

Just for grins, I asked Google how to set up to lift an RT on Big Blue. This is what came back; To set up and lift a 2014 Can-Am Spyder RT using a Big Blue Eazy-Rizer lift, follow these steps for a secure, 3-point stable lift: 1. Initial Prep and Clearance • Remove the Right-Side Floorboard...

How do I play music from a flash drive on a 2023 S2S?

Google AI says... Direct-connect USB thumb drives are not supported for direct music playback on the media system of a 2023 Can-Am Spyder. The USB port on the bike is generally used for charging or device power rather than acting as a music host reader. Alternative Ways to Play Music •...

@S2Sryder and @Peter Aawen I will try what you're suggesting tomorrow. Thanks.

This is the pre-2020 RT. It doesn't use the floorboard mounting bolt holes like the 2020 and later. Is that what you mean?

How many Spyder Riders have had a Hip replacement? How does it work for you?

My joints are fine at 80, so I'm one of the lucky ones, I guess. But my wife had her left hip replaced at 63 because of serious degradation and chronic infection precipitated by Lyme disease. That was 18 years ago and she's been fine ever since. Even backpacked 30+ miles with her girlfriends 9...

Can anyone with a Big Blue Lift provide advice on my lifting issues?

Okay, well, I still have it up on the BB lift, but lowered it enough to take the stress off the floorboard bracket so I could try to get the BB pushed far enough under the bike to center the front mount on the spine. But then what I am encountering is the brake pedal is hard against the column...

Can anyone with a Big Blue Lift provide advice on my lifting issues?

That is what they say to do, you're right. I've been doing that wrong. That is happening. Also, it tends to shift the BB back away from the bike, misaligning it with the spine when that happens. I'll go back and start from scratch. Thanks. It does, that's true. Back to the drawing board...
