• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Windshield top level with my line of sight - any recommendations for replacement?

New to the Spyder world and basically any motorcycle, I acquired a 2021 Sypder RT Limited and enjoying the riding. My problem is that when my windshield is all the way down it is almost level with my line of sight which doesn’t seem right to me. It appears that the previous owner installed an aftermarket windshield since it is 24in from bottom center to top and I understand that stock is 25in. I have been considering replacing it and have been looking a various dealers but cannot seem to find what I think I want.

1. 20-22 inches
2. Possible flip up (brother has one on his Gullwing)
3. light tint
4. standard width with vents at bottom
5. Am I wrong about the height issue mentioned above.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I would like to find a recurve, like the Long Ride Shield on my Harley. The curve at the top of the windshield seems to really help with pushing the wind up over my head, but LRS does not make one for the Spyder.

Look at member Quickdraws ad in "FOR SALE BY OWNER" forum. He has a 20" Freedom recurve shield for sale. Also, check out a 7Jurock shield. They can also cut out the vent holes.

You could cut it down a couple of inches. I did it not long ago, when I had my Triumph motorcycle. There weren't a lot of options for after market windscreens.

Put Painter's tape on both sides of the windscreen over the area you want to cut; Sharpie the line that you want; take a jigsaw with a down cutting laminate blade (the teeth point down instead of up); and finish up by smoothing around the edge with a file.

Just a thought, In my many years... no, eons of motorcycling experience, the ideal with any type of open vehicle experience, (motorcycle, trike) with any type of wind shield, it is best to see over the shield rather than looking thru it. If done correctly, the wind either brushes the top of your helmet or just over it.

Looking for the add-on that mounts to the top of the windshield for more protection. I have seen them around the net but cant locate the part. Has anyone ever come across it. Here is a video I found that talks about the Lamonster tensioner - at about 4:11 you can see the part. Thanks.

I just saw that Quickdraw is selling 3 different windshields. Perhaps one of them will suit your needs.

Now that @jetskier3 has brought this year old thread back up (which is fine, since it's continuing the discussion along the same lines, and it does help to keep some of the related windshield discussion in one place, instead of having a million threads all asking pretty much the same thing, like we do with the oil threads! 😣)...

However, just a quick note for anyone who might think @Quickdraw's Windshields are still for sale - that particular Ad/thread is now in the 'Archives' section, and no longer in the 'For Sale by Users' section, so I doubt they're actually still for sale... ;)

I had the same problem on my 2021. I went with Lamonster and purchased the 22" option. The recurve at the top of the windshield deflects the wind about 2-3 inches over my head when the windshield is all the way down. Real easy install, just raise the windshield all the way up, then while depressing the up button, turn the key off, and the windshield stays up.
