• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2017 RT with Codes P0556 and P0504 - Any ideas?

2017 Spyder RT: Since the water pump was replaced this week on my 2017 Can-Am Spyder RT, the check engine light is on, and the diagnostic procedure displays codes P0556 and P0504. About a month and a half ago we replaced the belt but never drove it until dropping the Spyder off at the dealer for the water pump repair. The Spyder starts normally and the brakes seem to work normally. I don't have brake fluid on hand but I was wondering if the mechanic could have messed with something to cause this. Any ideas? It's an hour's drive to any mechanic to fix it, unless someone here knows a mechanic in the St. Augustine FL area?

Did you search on either/both of those codes first?? :unsure: I found these threads, which might help:

But there were more threads too, some of which may also help. ;)

You may have to do a HARD reboot on the switch! Make sure that the fluid level is good, up to snuff, and the right color! If not, do a flush, and then a hard reset. Search it, it's easy! I hope it works out for you.

Thanks a lot to those who responded. I must say, this forum could use some AI. I typed the codes and got no response, then added a little to the codes to see if something would come up. Nothing. I wish I had found the posts mentioned above by Peter.

My bike had not been ridden for about two months. The belt broke in Washington State on the Canadian border. I trailered it to Hood river where we replaced the belt but we started it to put it on the trailer. When I arrived at the dealer a couple of weeks later, I started it to get it off the trailer and drive it maybe one hundred yards. Then it sat at the dealer's for a few days before they checked belt alignment and installed a belt tensioner. They discovered the water pump was leaking, so it sat for two more weeks for the replacement part. I drove it forty miles home when several lights came on. All but the check engine light went out. I've driven it around on several occasions. The brake light works fine, the motor runs great, but the check engine light is still on, so I checked the codes. Now, I'll check the battery connections in the AM. But maybe the battery is not fully charged.

... < snip > ...

Where did you type the codes and get nothing?? What didn't work as it should?? :unsure:

All I did was:
  1. type both codes (P0556; P0504) into the Search field (Search is in the top right corner of every page);
  2. check the 'Search titles only' box (it usually pays to initially search on thread titles only, or you're likely to get swamped in results, cos there's really not too much about Spyders that hasn't been asked and answered at least a few dozen times already on the boards here);
  3. submit the search; and
  4. I got Four (4) other threads in the results...
So I dunno that there's any need for AI, it just always pays to Search First. 😉
