• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Disability Plates - Texas only allows 1 plate per Operator! Is the Law the same in your State? What's Your Opinion?

Utah is one plate and one hang tag, or two hang tags. The hang tag I keep in the trunk and when I park I hook the loop of the hang tag around the trunk’s lock pin as I close the top case and then lock it. This way the hang tag is pretty hard to steal. Well, so far so good, anyway. I have to...

Anyone know the latest software version for a 24 RTL

Be cautious to have the battery on the tender so there is sufficient voltage over the 15 minutes or so it takes to upgrade. Also, be aware that several times during the install, the screen goes black for a bit without warning. It’s not hung, just be patient and you'll see it resume the update...

My 2024 S2S Seat has no strut - did BRP discontinue them?

The strut on my 2026 S2S seems to work really well, so far. On my 2021 RT LTD, the strut failed to hold the seat up after a about a year. Instead of replacing the strut, whenever I filled up with gas, I just put the gas cap under the seat, which held it up just enough to fill the bike with gas...

Getting Your Money's Worth from a Tire!

I'm kind of paranoid about tires. Yes, I live in what's really a high desert where it doesn't tend to rain much, but when it does, it does. You never know when the snow is going to arrive either, being at altitude with the mountains all around. I tend to change tires on anything, long before...

Anyone know the latest software version for a 24 RTL

V 6.0.1 was what I downloaded. I just checked it again today.

Rear tire mileage - How are you people getting 10,000 + miles on Kenda tires?

Yes, I think the dealer either has a large stock of the older OEM fitment tires that they need to use up, or they don't really understand the fitment information. Your rims seem to be the same size as mine.

Wonder how this happened, So Sad.

Yes, we had fun over the Alpine Loop today to go and see the changing leaves, the Aspens were vivid yellow. I think I've just become too risk adverse to ride on the absolute limit. My wife likes it when I "make good progress" as the Metropolitan Police used to say on their advanced rider...

Rear tire mileage - How are you people getting 10,000 + miles on Kenda tires?

They won't fit your Spyder? The XPS branded Kendas are 165/55R15 front and 225/50R15 rear, which I thought was the size for your F3? I didn't think the dimensions of the Spyder wheels had changed since the move from 14" to 15" rims? I might be wrong but people seem to interchange wheels between...

Getting Your Money's Worth from a Tire!

Was it a spontaneous failure, or did it come apart from a large cut due to an impact? I would send the carcass to BRP or Kenda for analysis. Perhaps also file an incident report with the NHTSA. I don't think I've ever seen or experienced a failure like that on a tire in my 50 years of riding...

Wonder how this happened, So Sad.

I just use pressure with my feet and my knee pressure on the tank. I'm too old to hang off much, and I'm not sure it really affects my cornering speed by a huge amount. I've just gotten so used to the roll and the centrifugal force feeling. I think the tire traction seems to be the limiting...

The Spyder is certainly not a Honda - but the reliability sure would be nice! Still not switching tho!!

If you look on nhtsa.gov there is a technical bulletin relating to the steel cables. They changed over to a stainless steel set which is what they fit on newer machines. Some people have managed to persuade their dealers to fit the updated kits, apparently as a courtesy, depending upon their...

Getting Your Money's Worth from a Tire!

And cross ply/bias ply tires. And that's not even retreaded cross ply items. Growing up in England, lots of people used retreads on their cars as tires were expensive in the UK back then. It was good that most people who used them put them on cars that were really slow. Some people used to...

Are there really any mechanical upgrades made to 2026 RT's to account for the quieter, smoother, livelier hype?

My '21 and now '26 sound exactly the same to my ears, but I'm more than a bit deaf. There are numerous changes to the body parts and the display/wiring, but essentially everything significant is the same.

Anyone else got a Pool of Water in the Frunk? Any fixes?

It's a big square plastic lid with a rubber seal that goes around the foot wide square hole the battery mounts into. If that big square hole around the battery is there and there's no Tupperware cover it's missing. I don't know what year your Spyder is, but for a 2026 S2S the part is: Ref: 130...

Are there really any mechanical upgrades made to 2026 RT's to account for the quieter, smoother, livelier hype?

I went from a 2021 RT LTD to a 2026 Sea to Sky. The S2S bedded in quicker than the LTD, but after that the performance seems to be identical as most as I can tell. The seat is miles better and it seems smoother and less floaty, as I think the XPS branded Kendas have a better tire sidewall that...

Is there any Owner affordable BUDS?

You have to be careful with which Lithium battery you select. It has to be one design for cranking engines, not just a general purpose deep discharge Lithium marine battery for instance. Lithium batteries are fine as long the the Battery Management System (BMS) is suitable for the vehicle you...

Is there any Owner affordable BUDS?

You know, for the price of a new battery... These things can eat batteries - even when the voltage looks good, they aren't always good. I would buy a new USA Yuasa Battery from a reliable source - minimum of 350 CCA and 21 A/hr. Charge the battery fully before installing it! Keep the machine...

Having a blast, but have you noticed these Spyders Take an Effort To Ride?!

I saw a belt change video on a Ryker and I thought it was quite involved with basically hinging the Ryker in the middle, but doable for sure. I think that same activity on a Spyder would require a fundamental change in the design. The belt would have to go inline with the crankshaft as the belt...

Ratcheting down a Spyder S2S in a Cargo Trailer - what should I NOT be doing?

I strap the bike down through the wheels like you said, or the bottoms of the A arms. This way the Spyder is free to move up and down on its suspension as my trailer has a torsion bar suspension system, but the total movement is relatively small.

Spyder ride in Northern Vermont in all her glory today

The yellows are brilliant this year at 7,000 through 10,000 feet. Was up at Brighton yesterday and the colors were eye popping, yellows against the deep greens of the firs. The reds however are dull, lackluster; brown and orange-ish at 6,000 to 9,000 feet. I think the extreme heat this year...
