• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

So you are saying with XPS semi synthetic and type III base oils you recommend 5,000 mile intervals? However for quality type IV full synthetic base oils you are good out to 10,000 miles? I wonder where the new XPS “full” synthetic sits? I’ve no idea what its base stock is I’m afraid. Sorry...

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

Interestingly, if you look at Aprilia, who used essentially the same Rotax 998 cc engine often in a similar state of tune, they generally recommended a 15w-50 oil instead of Can Am's specified 10w-40. Aprilia also, like Can Am, recommend changing the oil every 4500 miles on the 998 engine...

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

I would wonder that myself, indeed. My dealer recommends 5,000 mile oil change intervals. You could say that's just the dealer extracting more money but after a while a good service department that you learn to trust gets to know what works out best from their experiences in real world use...

I've got a bent front wheel - any idea where to buy a new one?

Lol. Very good. I'd hardly think I'm drinking the Kenda Cool Aid though, just stating an opinion, which is worth what anyone paid for it.

I've got a bent front wheel - any idea where to buy a new one?

I thought the Kendas fitted to my 2021 RT LTD were kind of OK but a bit borderline in certain circumstances. The Spyder deserved better. Certainly they were pretty horrible in the rain like you said. But I live in a desert so we don't usually get much rain in riding season. The new XPS branded...

I've got a bent front wheel - any idea where to buy a new one?

OK, the original Kendas weren’t brilliant but in many cases they weren’t as bad as they were made out to be. I had them on my 2021 RT LTD and I thought they were acceptable, except in the wet. There we’re issues for some people with inconsistent manufacturing and quality assurance, and...

Thoughts on my first SS1000 with the Spyder

Yes, the distances between gas stations out here in the mountains and deserts of the West requires very careful fuel planning. Rapidly changing and unseasonal weather can also catch you out. Carrying extra gas, waterproofs, heavier gloves, thermals, space blankets, and emergency food rations...

Large Power Sport Dealer ditches Spyders

That's a shame. Spyders seem to sell OK here, Rykers not so much. I though the Canyon would do better due to all our trails and desert roads, but they don't seem to be moving that quickly. I suspect the price is the barrier here for such a specific use case vehicle, OHV vehicles seem to sell...

Large Power Sport Dealer ditches Spyders

Part of the problem is BRP don't seem to be very flexible in letting the dealers select what vehicles they stock. I see plenty of Rykers on the streets in larger urban metro areas. Out here in the west I see lots of Spyders, but few Rykers, on the roads. I can't imagine the dealers haven't...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

About the same here in good old Costco in Utah. Varies day by day though.

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

Yes, the Kendon is a bit more expensive. With the front crank down wheel, LED lights and spare wheel and tire, it comes to about $5,700 with their current 10% discount. Of course there are taxes, but delivery is free. Like your Stinger it will accommodate one Spyder, one Harley trike, three...

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

Yes, that’s what mine does too. Makes these kinds of trailer, Stinger and Kendon both, really convenient. I’ve no idea what Stinger costs, but I paid about $5,500 for my Kendon with spare wheel, LED lights, folding crank front wheel options and on palette to my door delivery. It seemed like a...

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

I have a Kendon trailer specifically for Spyder’s. I do essentially the same thing as @racoon's. This was with my previous Spyder about 5 years ago. It’s been a great trailer and folds up on the end wall of my garage. It still looks like new after many trips.

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

In neutral, parking brake on, chocked and strapped through the wheels.

I've got a bent front wheel - any idea where to buy a new one?

Sorry, my fault I think. I’m getting senile. I need to get out more. Back to, I saw lots of pairs on EBay so it’s easy to get two that match.

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

Oh, I think with that setup you'll be fine. I've always gone for a center of gravity a bit in front of the axle(s) towards the tongue. I'm not an expert but I've towed a few RV trailers in my time and that's how they all seem to be balanced. My Kendon Spyder specific trailer is that way too and...

I've got a bent front wheel - any idea where to buy a new one?

Yes, in those tight down hill turns with adverse camber, both of mine could run a little wide. Normally they corner completely neutral. I've never had an oversteer issue. But, there again I always ride two up so that might be why it doesn't oversteer as I have more weight over the rear, not that...

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

Yes, that'll work. The straps pulling backwards at the rear and forwards at the front should keep the wheels chocked. The yellow chocks might help, but I would guess just the 2x4 will be enough. Don't stand the 2x4 on end though, as the clearance of the Spyder front end isn't much over 4 inches...

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

I have a Spyder specific Kendon trailer. Think you can emulate what I do though. I'd take a piece of two by four and screw it down sideways across the trailer towards the front. I'd then drive the Spyder up against it and effectively use it to chock the front wheels. Screw down the four by four...

I've got a bent front wheel - any idea where to buy a new one?

Mine 2021 RT LTD and now my 2026 S2S both behave the same way. I think when you're getting to the limit of articulation it starts to feel like it's pushing the front. It doesn't do anything spectacularly wrong it just runs wide a bit more than you would expect it to as everywhere else it is...
