• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Mine is mainly a honey-do list. Me, I can just ride somewhere and sit and read a book on my little iPad. But apparently there are projects to be completed that are on some list, which I suspect forever changes, and I apparently cannot remember the contents of. I got the bird bath out, put the...

What psi are you running in your Canyon's Rear Suspension Air Bag?

The info I gave you earlier, sorry, the numbers were for an RT LTD or S2S not a Canyon. However the principle is the same. Adding enough air to keep the thing at where the bike with auto leveling would keep it from the ride height sensor. At 125 lbs plus empty luggage 5lbs would be indicated...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Since I retired, and now my wife has retired, we've been so darned busy it's insane. There's something we have to do every day. I've no idea how we fitted it all in when we were working. The nice thing now though is I don't have to worry about what day of the week it is. Things don't have to...

First post, long time lurker - Will Elka Stage 2 shocks and a beefier sway bar make appreciable improvements to cornering?

I'd ride it around for a bit and see what you think the bike needs. Depending upon your riding style and the difference between handling and road holding you might want to consider the sway bar, but just how aggressive a one you fit will depend upon you. Shock absorbers, stock may be fine, or...

What psi are you running in your Canyon's Rear Suspension Air Bag?

Remember adding air to your Spyder's air bag does approximately four things: 1. Inflation increases the ride height. 2. Inflation increases the suspension stiffness in a complex relationship between the air bag spring rate, the mechanical spring rate and the ride height. 3. Inflation effects...

    Union Pacific Big Boy locomotive

I'll never complain about my Spyder's fuel consumption ever again.

2012 Spyder Back in the race!

@pegasus1300, is that a 998 or a 1330? Some dealers will work on older 1330s but not on 998s apparently. 14 years old isn’t an antique in my mind. That’s just getting run in. Motorcycles aren’t interesting until they are at least 40 years old. My Range Rover will be 10 years old this year, so...

Front Turn Signal Out - any hints on installing the replacement?

Like most spare parts, they don’t come with instructions as they assume they are for a dealer and hence they have access to the factory service manual. You could ask your dealer if they would be so kind as to let you look at their hard copy of the service manual, or purchase a service manual as...

Has anyone tried this Cat-back muffler?

My 2026 S2S has a backup camera. I can’t say I use it much. Unless I had a very specific use for one, the mirrors do the job pretty well. I wouldn’t buy one if the S2S didn’t already come with one. It was fun at first, but after a few times, I don’t even look at it now, the novelty wore off fast.

Check Engine lamp and fault codes P061E & P0504, Brake signal not plausible, Brake lights on all the time, is this normal, or is something else wrong?

Does sound like a faulty switch doesn’t it? The dealer should be able to remove the switch and test it on the bench with a multimeter? It shouldn’t need for BRP to get back to them in order to order a new switch. They should also be able to disconnect the switch and simulate its action with a...

2012 Spyder Back in the race!

If I remember I will certainly do so. As in old, are we talking early 1330s or are we talking 998s?

2012 Spyder Back in the race!

Moto United in Draper are very much still a Spyder dealer, or they were two months ago. I bought my 2026 Sea to Sky there and they have serviced my 2021 RT LTD for the five years I had it, and even took it in part exchange. They assembled my Spyder from the crate, and they reminded me to book my...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Having been scared to death by oncoming overtaking traffic in my lane twice the week before last, I bought this from SlingMods: EvolutionR Series Plug N' Play LED Auxiliary Running Light Bar for the Can-Am Spyder RT (2020+) I fitted it this evening, which was fun. First the arthritis didn't...

2012 Spyder Back in the race!

Won’t Moto United in Draper work on it? They’ve been very good to me over the years. As a substitute teacher after I retired early, I taught one of their techs on and off through high school. Very smart lad.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Thanks for the reply. I’ve an angle grinder and a sawzall, I’ll just get a fresh metal cutting disk or blade and have at it on a pair of car ramps. My age and arthritis be damned, I’m going to have a go at it. Nothing like power tools for fun.

    Life's Little Pleasures...

My daughter in grade school would have a nervous breakdown if she chipped a nail. Her time in the Navy turned her into the most fearsome young woman that no one wants to mess with. Paid for her degree too. She’s awesome. Spitting image of my wife, her stepmother, tough as nails. I dare not cross...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Well my Baja Ron Ultimate Sway Bar arrived today. So did the running light bar. That’s quick shipping from Slingmods. The light bar I’ll affix tomorrow. The sway bar I’ll think about how I’m going to get 24” of clearance. Quality looks good.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Good point. I presume I just slide the old one to one side and then cut the bar with my angle grinder as close to the channel as possible, then just slide it out? Or do I have to cut both ends out and slide it out through a wheel in the same way I put the new one in? That way I wouldn’t have to...

    Life's Little Pleasures...

Yes, you just can’t let your loved ones drive around in unsafe vehicles can you? It’s hard wired into being a father isn’t it. Whenever I see one of my children’s cars I’m measuring the tire depth, checking the brakes and taking it for an oil change. That way I can check it all out. They’ll say...

    Life's Little Pleasures...

Yes, we had a long and very stern chat about that. It wasn't a lecture he would want to hear again and although the fixes were a Christmas present it wasn't a very Merry Christmas kind of gift. He's got enough income to take the thing for an annual dealer service, so although it costs more...
