• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

In search of an Ultimate Trailer OHT3 designed for hauling Spyders - any input?

I bought a Spyder specific trailer from Kendon in California. Works brilliantly and folds up for storage at the back of the garage. Has integral wheels to roll it around upon when folded and upright. It will also allow for Harley Trikes, and Gold Wing size touring bikes, no problem. Costs a...

    Life's Little Pleasures...

My son and his partner drove non stop from Wisconsin to my home in Utah last year for Christmas before last. The whole way they said they tried to not use the brakes too much as they were screeching. They turned the radio on when there was a droning noise from the front. As I always do, I...

    Life's Little Pleasures...

No, she can tell cars from SUVs and SUVs from trucks. I don’t think it’s a female thing. My step sons are totally mechanically inept and will drive their cars into the ground completely ignoring any noises or other issues. Ask them about their cars and they are clueless. Their biological father...

Check Suspension drop down message appears intermittently - any ideas/help?

I don’t know about the XPS branded Kenda tires. I was pleasantly surprised on that front. I just did a trip including Highway 12 in Utah and in the dry they were pretty good, better than the original Kendas by quite a margin. The real test was coming back down from the Hogback section, the...

Check Suspension drop down message appears intermittently - any ideas/help?

Well that’s good to know. I was just wary about if there were any lasting side affects from doing it. I was just thinking what would happen if someone dumped a good deal of slime in there on the basis of more is better. 20-30 ml is a pretty small amount. Do you do it as a lasting repair, or do...

    Life's Little Pleasures...

I place crosses of black duct tape across my cases and have the numbers one through four written in Sharpie on the top. My wife openly admits she can’t otherwise tell our suitcases from others. Going into a parking lot at the store she always heads for the first white SUV she sees. I even put a...

Check Suspension drop down message appears intermittently - any ideas/help?

I would worry about when a passenger isn’t being carried, the air bag will let air escape back into the pump assembly to escape via the relief valve. Will the slime eventually cause the escape valve to get bunged up? Replacing the air bag once you have used slime might require a thorough clean...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I broke down and ordered a "Baja Ron Ultra Performance Sway Bar Kit for the Can-Am Spyder RT (2013+)" from SlingMods. Baja Ron seemed to be out of stock. Everyone is telling me that I need a better sway bar, so I decided not to be so pigheaded and actually try one. Now all I have to do is figure...

Any advice on adjusting toe on the front wheels? Is the job doable without BUDS?

There is a rock protector device you can install. This might mitigate gravel and small rocks getting stuck in the belt in the first place. https://spyderpops.com/the-missing-belt-guard-rt-models-2014-present/

First time ride on my Spyder today - I think I'm gonna like it!

I did the Torrey, UT, to Escalante, UT, road a couple of weeks ago. Nobody told me about the Hogback, where the road literally runs along a 9,000 foot high mountain ridge with several thousand feet of drop on either side. There are no guard rails along the top. Going South we met a torrential...

Check Engine lamp and fault codes P061E & P0504, Brake signal not plausible, Brake lights on all the time, is this normal, or is something else wrong?

Sorry, I misread things as I looked at your profile Doug, not the OP's. It really does get to be a pain getting old.

10.25” Display, when running Apple CarPlay, no way to see miles to empty or fuel remaining - bug report filed!

Thank you, I reset my configuration changes and started again so I see what you see. Several other oddities were fixed too. I think I had been messing so much with Bluetooth configurations and various other things it had got a little confused. Now it works as it should. In full screen the fuel...

Check Engine lamp and fault codes P061E & P0504, Brake signal not plausible, Brake lights on all the time, is this normal, or is something else wrong?

For some models there was a recall for problems with the brake pedal return springs or something like that. Look on the NHTSA.gov website using your make, model and year. I hope it gets sorted.

Check Suspension drop down message appears intermittently - any ideas/help?

Doesn’t slime require centrifugal force like in a tire to work by getting forced into the puncture hole?

10.25” Display, when running Apple CarPlay, no way to see miles to empty or fuel remaining - bug report filed!

That’s odd, mine doesn’t show that. I’ll go through the setup again. Perhaps I configured something wrong. Mine doesn’t have anything down there. I’m on firmware V 5.1.0, I don't know if that makes a difference, but I’m going to do a reset and start again. Thanks for the info.

10.25” Display, when running Apple CarPlay, no way to see miles to empty or fuel remaining - bug report filed!

It seems whilst running Apple CarPlay on the 10.25” display there is no way to see fuel level or miles to empty. Knowing this data whilst using a maps application is rather an essential piece of data to know, especially out here in the sparsely populated areas of the Western US where gas...

Any advice on adjusting toe on the front wheels? Is the job doable without BUDS?

Might want to check both front and rear pulleys in case it was a rock caught between the belts and the front or rear pulley that caused this. Did you go on any gravel roads that day?

Your Weather News @ June Edition 2026

Well I agree with the last bit. However, Australia has had it's revenge with displaced wild life. When I lived in England I used to take my then 2 year old son to Whipsnade Zoo, which was an extension of London Zoo out in the Chiltern Hills, north of London. The problem was they had a storm...
