• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Gas/petrol is still a fair bit cheaper than bottled water at most gas stations. Gas is still the cheapest thrills.

Anyone going back and forth from their Spyder to a motorcycle?

Yes, the are unique. One steers by counter steering, the other like a regular vehicle but with handlebars instead of a steering wheel. The Spyder is very different and takes a fair while to get used to unless you are used to old snowmobiles or sitting inline OHVs. I've ridden both. You don't...

Front end shaking around 55 mph - anyone else have this issue?

I’d start with the easy bit, tire balancing. I think back in this year they had grease nipples on some of the pivot points which folks ignore leading to bushing wear. If the brake pedal pulses when you slow down you may have a warped disk rotor. At that age front shocks might be done.

Front wheel hop when braking - suspension arm bushes, or... ?? Any help?

If the tires are balanced (without Centramatic balancers), there's no deviation in run out on the wheel, the shocks are OK, no matter what sway bar is fitted, and all the suspension bushings are OK, there has to be some other problem causing this. When I aligned my original Spyder 5 years ago...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I fitted a 1-1/4" bar riser on my 2026 S2S. Changed the bar angle a little too, to make the turn signal switch easier to get to. You can rotate the bars a few degrees with them located on the centering pin. Mine were rotated fully towards me, so I rotated them to about the middle of the range so...

Front wheel hop when braking - suspension arm bushes, or... ?? Any help?

Did you clean the faces of where the wheel boss interfaces with the hub. Sometimes corrosion builds upon this face and it takes a really good scour with some fine wet and dry sandpaper to get the surface back to shiny metal. Other suggestion might be more laborious but what happens if you swap...

Is the S2S seat all that much better compared to the RTL seat?

My 2026 S2S seat is much better than the seat on 2021 RT LTD I traded in. I find the seat a large improvement. My wife says the rear seat is an enormous improvement. Whether it's worth trading in an RT LTD for a S2S seat alone, probably not. Whether a 2022 S2S has the same seat as the 2026 I...

Front wheel hop when braking - suspension arm bushes, or... ?? Any help?

OK, another crazy thought. Could it be the back end? If that is rising and lowering could it appear to be shifting weight on and off the front. So, perhaps check the rear wheel bearings, rear brake pads and lines, rear disk run out, shock mounts, belt tensioner, rear wheel run out, and rear...

Front wheel hop when braking - suspension arm bushes, or... ?? Any help?

I'd start with BajaRon's advice first. He's far more expert than me on Spyders. His idea is a far simpler and more likely thing to start with. At the very at least you can rule out another variable for zero cost. I thought ABS as I did have a problem on a 1997 BMW R1100 RS with the ABS system...

Anyone tried Cleaning up scuffed passenger handles??

Have you tried Can Am's XPS Black Plastic & Rubber Restorer? You can find it at a BRP / Can Am dealer or online at: Black Plastic & Rubber Restorer. It's about $12.49. Don't put it on the brake pedal or the seat it warns.

Front wheel hop when braking - suspension arm bushes, or... ?? Any help?

I would immediately suspect a problem with the ABS system kicking in, or out, when it shouldn't. I'd get the dealer to flush the brake fluid AND flush the ABS unit, using the BUDS system. I'd have them check the ABS sensors and rings on the wheels, at the very least clean them or test them for...

Your Weather News @ May 2026 Edition

It's been in the 80's and higher here along the Wasatch Front. It was 90+ on Wednesday. It rained yesterday for about a couple of minutes, just long enough to dump wind blown desert sand all over everything. It's going to possibly rain on Sunday and Monday with a cold front coming through...

Are these Dealer charges normal? Fair?

The reality is the manufacturer sells the bike to the dealer in a crate wherever the bike is built. The dealer pays for the shipping to their location. They pay for the tariffs too. If they want assemble it to put it on the showroom floor or un-crate and assemble it for you on demand doesn't...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

You can learn a lot about whether the oil is truly a full synthetic on a Type IV base stock, or whether it is a "full synthetic" meaning a highly refined mineral oil Type III stock, from the oil's Safety Data Sheet (SDS). It doesn't give you the exact answers but hints at these things in Section...

Here is the Safety Data Sheet for BRP XPS Fully Synthetic 10W-40 Engine Oil

And most countries just followed along choosing not to do anything different, like Canada and the UK specifically. Shows how powerful oil companies really are. If it says MA/MA2 then that is the JASO rating for an oil. The word JASO is often just implied. If says none of these, it might mean...

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

Here is the Safety Data Sheet for BRP XPS Fully Synthetic 10W-40 Engine Oil

Being inquisitive I wanted to know if the new XPS Fully Synthetic oil for our Can Am Spyders was indeed based upon a fully synthetic Type IV base stock, or a highly refined Type III base stock. So, I ordered a copy of the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), which under OSHA rules Can Am is legally...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I'm pretty picky about oil change intervals and I'm certainly not going the 9,300 miles Can Am says you can between oil changes for a Spyder. However, I think with a quality full synthetic oil (whatever "full synthetic" means these days) 5,000 miles is more than frequent enough especially with a...

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

Thanks for the info. Being forever curious about what XPS 5W-40 4T Fully Synthetic (part number 9779492 for a quart) actually consists of, I thought I'd read the Safety Data Sheet to at least get a clue. However, BRP only publishes the data sheet for the old Semi Synthetic Blend version on its...
