• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Learning to ride this bike: my progress so far

I agree 100%! I have ridden with so many people locally and at the rally in Maggie Valley who have thrown all types of money on their Spyders in the form of shocks, swaybars, etc. And every time I end up waiting for them at the next turnoff. Yes, I did install a swaybar eventually on my 2016...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Rode the RTL to church yesterday. Nice little 115 mile ride. Noticed that this was the first time on this particular bike since getting back from Maggie Valley in mid Octorber. It still had some of the road grime on it. Going to get it all cleaned up and ready for a Christmas parade in 3 weeks.

Trading in my Ryker, it's time for an F3-T - what issues should I be looking for/concerned about?

jcthorne, that's good to know. I have a 2016 F3L special series and love it even without the top case. Had 2 of the 2016 F3T styles and they were great too. I like the large sprocket. When I first got the F3T, the biggest thing I noticed was that I could climb slight grades still in 6th gear...

Probably a stupid idea - thinking I might go from a 2018 F3 Ltd to an RTL S2S - am I crazy and should just keep what I have?

I am surprized at that. I agree with keeping the F3L, but my wife feels like she had more room on our 2021 RTL than she had on the F3T with the passenger backrest. Maybe there is more room when using the top box that comes on the F3L over the F3T.

Trading in my Ryker, it's time for an F3-T - what issues should I be looking for/concerned about?

I know the 2017 F3L gets the smaller rear sprocket, but I was told by my mechanic that the F3T in 2017 did get the larger rear. That is why he suggested getting a F3T and adding the top box in 2017. I know the F3 series in 2016 got the larger one, even on the F3L. But I could be mistaken.

Nov 2025 Bucket list trip to North Carolina and back, over 2400 miles.

That sounds like quite an adventure. I would love to be able to do more traveling like that. I am planning a North Eastern trip for late next Spring/early Summer. That will be to finish up the 48 State tour that I started last May. I think I have about 12-13 States North and East of NC to do...

Blue Skies, dry roads, and 70° - Great Spyder Ride! If this is "global warming", bring it on!

Beautiful 74 degrees here in NC today, but I only rode about 30 miles on the K1600 today. Got home and washed the convertible to get it ready for a ride to church tomorrow morning 😎

I'm here at BAJARON's - Greeneville, TN. Loading up with Farkles!

Heard a lot about him, and even have installed 2 of his sway bars, but never had a chance to meet him in person. I think he is only a few hours away from me, so I will have to make a day trip to just say hi, and maybe get a few things. Great to have someone that you can trust. Looking forward...

Trading in my Ryker, it's time for an F3-T - what issues should I be looking for/concerned about?

I would start off with an upgraded sway bar before moving to shocks. If you want more throttle response, a Pedal Commander or Pedal Box will help that.

Trading in my Ryker, it's time for an F3-T - what issues should I be looking for/concerned about?

When doing the BUDS check, that should let you know if the front pulley recall has been done. Other than that, you should love it. With it being a 2017 F3T, you also get the larger rear sprocket that helps with acceleration.

Took delivery of my Canyon Base

Congrats on your new ride. I see you said it doesn't corner as well as your Ryker, but how is it compared to the F3S that you traded? I haven't had a chance to ride a Canyon, but I plan on finding a demo day soon.

2014 RT Limited Struggling on Starting, then the display goes to vertical lines! Could this be the battery going bad already?

I have a 2021 RTL and a 2016 F3L. I had to replace both batteries this past Spring. Both were ridden about the same amount and rarely put on the maintainer. The 2016 just simply had a better battery.

Probably a stupid idea - thinking I might go from a 2018 F3 Ltd to an RTL S2S - am I crazy and should just keep what I have?

As others have said, the trade in value is definitely lower than a outright sell. Right now, the resale value on used Spyders is at an all-time low. But having a 2016 F3L (no trunk in that model), and a 2021 RTL (no Apple CarPlay), I would say the F3 series is less trouble. But the RTL is better...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Got a small group together on Saturday for a "ride for food". Did about 220 miles on a trip that would normally be about 110 miles. But that is what motorcyclists do. Went by Southern Supreme for some free fruitcake samples and then over to Siler City to Johnsons Hamburgers. Since they were so...

Has anyone heard any rumors about a new 1600 engine for 2027 Spyders?

It is always great to hear rumors, and with the emergence of AI, they are doing so much with redesigns it is crazy. But I don't see them going with a different drivetrain for a long time. Heck, they won't even change the design of the outdated (but still nice) F3 platform. And although a...

Returning member after years on a Goldwing Trike - anyone else done this? Thoughts?

If I was looking to buy new, that would definitely be my go to place. I have seen a 2023 RTL used for as little as $18k; I even found a 2020 RTL for $14.5k; so some used deals are out there.

There really are no alternatives to the Can Am reverse trikes

For me, it wasn't the age so much as my size. I drove a buddy of mines and it was the worst first 10 minute ride that I had ever taken. Then after that I started to fall in love with it. He had the "S" version, so the brakes were a bit soft, but otherwise it was great. Then the time came for...

Is this the one in Roxboro? I saw that there was one and thought I would participate this year.

Hope I'm not done riding my Spyder for the year?!

Well, this is the last weekend (Saturday) before the time change and sunset starts before 6pm. I usually ride anytime it is sunny and temps are 40+. But once the sun goes down too early, my longer rides are limited, altho a 200 mile day is still possible.

2020 RT Limited Rear Case Removal - does the cover come with the bike? Should I expect it when buying a used bike?

Keep an eye on ebay and you might find one there. I found one that was listed as a frunk lid for a 2021. The picture clearly showed me what it was and I bought it for $40.
