• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone purchased from an out of town dealer? Is this common? Any concerns?

Bought my ‘17 F3-S Daytona as a new, never-titled, sub-80-mile unit in 2022 from an Indiana dealer. Three or four phone calls to check on a few things/extra included parts, a couple of emails back and forth, and a call to HaulBikes - about 3 weeks later it showed up at my door in deep South...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Leroy73 - a question for you. I was wondering - if you are running your aux tank feed line to the main tank vent, then wouldn’t a vented cap on the aux tank be sufficient? Only reason I ask, is because a vented cap was all I had on the 4.9gal aux tank on my ‘98 Honda Magna w/o fuel injection. I...

    New Uhaul trailer coming?

Tires are fully on the ramps, but just flush with the insides of the ramps. Should allow you at least 4 inches of leeway before a catastrophic “crunch”! Hence my saying a spotter would be very helpful, and slow-and-easy is the word of the day - especially coming off. Definitely doable. But...

    New Uhaul trailer coming?

Rented one of these today. They call it their Toy Hauler. It is a 16’ flatbed utility trailer. I rented it for very different reasons from hauling a Spyder!! But when I got home this evening, I did a little checking on how it would work with the Spyders. First off - this is a Heavy Duty...

Help please, I'm confused about the F3 handlebar options

Comparing thumbnail pics above, it looks like the Attitude bars have more pullback out at the bar ends, as well as being a longer reach. I have thought about getting regular bars for mine, instead of the Drag bars (think "almost straight" - like a broomstick). However, I would need to change...

Help please, I'm confused about the F3 handlebar options

Don’t know much about the Attitude bars, but the description under Specifications on the long-reach bars sounds like what you are after.

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

Jarrett - I believe the F3-T comes with a five-position foot peg system, where you can tailor it to your own liking. Same with the F3-S.

How can I leave the parking brake off when parked in the garage?

Yes, Cobra, semi-autos only. Our SM6’s don’t beep at us. I leave mine in neutral in the garage, and in 1st gear when parking elsewhere. Park brake has been engaged about 6 times total on mine.

    2024 F3T vibration at 3800 to 4000 rpm - any ideas?

Not so sure it is the belt. My observations of belt vibes have only been at a certain speed - on mine, about 62 to 65mph. If feeling it in every gear at a given rpm, methinks it is something caused by the engine. Could just be harmonics coursing throughout the frame and/or handlebars at that...

Ever driven your Spyder onto a ferry?

Put our two F3-S’s onto ferries at Bull Shoals in Arkansas, and Port Aransas in South Texas. No problems with either. As others have stated, if the angle looks a little suspect, hit it at about a 30° to 45° angle rather than head on. Same as with dips or speed humps in roads.

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight - original March '23; update June '25

I do quickly use the clutch and quickly snap the throttle during shifts. With it being a ride-by-wire electric throttle and not a mechanical cable, the rev’s don’t really come down much. May be better to do it another way, but muscle memory has me doing it this way - like all the other bikes I...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Took it to the drag strip to test out its performance after a ‘tune’ and a tire change. Put 132 miles on it getting to and from the track. Thread is here: https://www.spyderlovers.com/threads/f3-s-daytona-at-the-drag-strip-tonight.153493/

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight - original March '23; update June '25

Took the ‘17 F3-S Daytona SM6 back to the track tonight. In the last couple months, have had Wick-It do a Stage 2 reflash w/ airbox lid mod, I changed the RLS primary pipe for a Lamonster straight pipe, and I installed a Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS extreme summer performance rear tire. Wanted to...

How do I get a new key for 2020 F3 Rear Cowl lock?

Sucks to not be able to get into it, but you’re really not missing much. Not much usable space in there.

A different take on HD logo on stuff!

Have never owned a HD, but I have a rain suit - with their logo all the way across the back - that works marvelously. Used it a couple times while riding my Honda CTX1300, and stays in the frunk of the F3-S for future use.

Me, too! Spent 5 minutes mulling over which way to install it!!! But, hey - I can’t see it from the seat!!

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Had my new Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS (225/50R15) tire mounted, and I reinstalled it this afternoon. Also reinstalled the ECU and air cleaner lid after a trip to Wick-It for a Stage 2 update. Haven’t started it yet, as am awaiting a Lamonster primary muffler delete pipe to arrive Monday. After...

Any time limit on changing HCM filter during oil change? Is a 10 y/o filter good for a few more years?

Most other maintenance items have been changed, except haven’t flushed cooling system yet. Seems the age of the HCM filter is not a big deal. Thx for the responses.

    Random thought for the day

Hey, Gwolf - looks like some Kendas on front there!!! But, seriously - nice work.

Any time limit on changing HCM filter during oil change? Is a 10 y/o filter good for a few more years?

Ok - question I am asking is … is a 10-year-old filter still good for a few more years? My wife rides about 2K miles a year. At this rate, the 28K won’t come for another 7 to 8 years. That filter will be ~18 years old then, but within mileage specs.
