• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have you had ALIF Spinal Surgery? How did it impact your Spyder Ryding?

I had PLIF surgery last October. Surgery Thursday morning, went home Saturday afternoon. Like @TheMariner, I'm surprised that ALIF is considered less invasive. Perhaps it's because PLIF requires cutting through and moving aside the strong lower back muscles,

Where are you from? Where do you live?

Northeast Ohio. What's great: no earthquakes or hurricanes, very few tornados. Pretty close to great riding in southern Ohio, WV, PA. What's not-so-great: snow and ice in the winter.

    Define "Old"

The past few years have taught me a lesson about aging. To make a long story short, a few small back injuries starting 3 years ago pretty much sidelined me from most physical activity (and resulted in my owning a Spyder :) ). Surgery last October fixed the back, and physical therapy has helped...

Can the Spyder's battery be changed to lithium? Pro's & Con's?

Can you explain why a higher capacity battery is needed? Seems to me that these additional loads are switched on only while the motor is running. And while the motor is running, the alternator is providing all the power to run all the loads on the bike, plus keep the battery charged. Am I...

My first impressions of the 2023 Spyder RTL

If you haven't read this thread, take the time to do so: https://spyderlovers.com/threads/dos-do-nots-for-new-spyder-owners.41346/. There is a wealth of information there that helped me a lot when I bought my first Spyder last fall. Using some of the riding tips, I was able to keep up with my...

Clock Setting screen no longer works, any help appreciated!?

Just so I understand: every time you turn the key on your Spyder ON and it's close enough to get to your Wi-Fi router, your Spyder prompts you to enter your Wi-Fi passcode?

Clock Setting screen no longer works, any help appreciated!?

Here's my theory, that I'm going to test when I get the time (maybe somebody will beat me to it). If you have configured a Wi-Fi connection in your Spyder, it connects to the Wi-Fi every time you turn it on. With the 4.1 update, it then connects to an NTP server (like your laptop or desktop...

Not sure what to use for a title - picking up my Spyder (take two)

    Riding Gear Poll

Granted, the body armor might be of questionable benefit. But the abrasion protection offered by quality gear cannot be debated.

Your Weather News @ July Edition 2025

It's a hazy sunny day in Northeast Ohio, temperature about 80° F, no rain (yet). I rode out on the Beemer to meet my wife for lunch, it was a nice ride.

Anybody have a Link to download a service manual for a 2023 RTL?

The manuals from bprmanuals.com are PDF files that you download and can copy them to as many different devices as you want. Upload a copy to your Google Drive account and then you will have access to it on any and every computer or phone you use. Also, after you buy it, you receive an email...

Anyone tried Washing/Cleaning the Pads from inside a helmet?

I have never owned a Shoei helmet, but the helmets I wear now and have worn in the past have removable pads. I take them out occasionally and wash them in a sink of warm water with shampoo. Then let them air dry. I've never harmed them by doing this.

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

I agree with @Peter Aawen. And you yourself have averaged 6000 miles per year on your motorcycle(s), right in line with the usage on that 2023 Spyder.
