• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2025 Demo rides are on their way!!

I was just wondering the other day if you were going to go out on the circuit again. Glad to see you are still out on the Demo Show teaching people how great it is to ride a Spyder.

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Boy this is an old thread. Nice to see it come back. I looked at some of the old posts and remembered some past friends that are no longer on here for whatever reason. Remember Mr. White, Prairie Spyder ,Chupaca, Cruiser Joe and a whole bunch of others. I did find my post #768 where I announced...

    Random thought for the day

I remember those days. I started with an AJS tho it had no electrics, then had a 750 Norton Commando. Once when riding thru the Colorado mountains at night with my buddy the lights went out on his new Kawasaki 3 cyl. We had to use the lights of the Norton to get him into the next town where we...

Daylight Saving Time - Make sure to adjust your Spyder clocks - Spring Ahead!

I just leave my clock alone. Even though Utah observes DST, I don't bother to change either my truck or my Spyder. I know they are an hour off and I just compensate.

Daylight Saving Time - Make sure to adjust your Spyder clocks - Spring Ahead!

I leave mine set on whatever time it is during the summer. I actually mostly don't care what time it is when I am riding.

I Killed My Battery - left it on a tender... New battery awaiting collection!

You would be money ahead to charge your new battery with a battery charger for a few hours. Failing that, or not having a charger, charge it overnight with the Tender.

    I am now Spyderless

That was good choice on your part. No hassle and fast cash. The end for me will come when something happens that I can`t fix and there it will sit, as I don't have the cash for a dealer to fix it. Glad you got to retire with honor, Pete; and I am glad you will continue to be around.

    I am now Spyderless

I am sorry to see you decide to hang it up Pete, yet at 78, I know how you feel. I didn't even put 5,000 miles on my Spyder last year. Just enough to warrant an oil change. I also don't bend as well as I used to, so doing my own work is getting harder and harder. In short, I see the end coming...

    Is canam-partsstore Reputable?

Do not EVER deal with someone who wants to charge you extra for shipping fees or customs. It is a total scam. I got bit on this, don't you get bit too.

Recall - 2017-2019 RT and F3 Engine Output Shaft Can Break!

I find it interesting that the class is determined by year and mileage and not by year and VIN

Need to replace 2013 left lower side panel - can't get my Lava Bronze color, only Black. Any suggestions?

Try Ebay for a used one. I had to replace a fender and used one from there. I also had to buy another one later, but couldn't find one in Lava Bronze, so I bought a Silver one and painted it with paint from: https://scratcheshappen.com/touch-u...nd=79&paint_year=2013&paint_model=1228#colors...

    HowTo: Change Rear Tire

Nice to see you back Snoopy. I currently run A Pirelli P4 which is no longer made. It is due for replacement. I think it has about 30,000 miles on it. I run it at 18 lbs

Anyone tried a Ramp for the rear wheel to make adding air easier?

Being so close in the forum, I forget that in reality we are so spread out.

Another rider needed a jump start, which got me thinking... Here's my better way!

For those of us still sporting the older PRE 3 Cylinder RT just lift your seat. The + terminal is accessible on the right and there is a ground post sticking up on the left, very easy.

At what RPM do you shift on a 988 RSS for mileage

I have a 2012 RTL, which means I have an engine similar to yours with the semi auto 5 speed transmission and 998 V-Twin motor. Your clutch doesn't lock up until about 4000 rpm, so shifting lower than that is a waste of time and will damage your clutch. I shift at 6,000 and cruise at 5,000. I...

What is your opinion on the plastic oil pump gears?

I think if it were a problem we would have heard a lot more about it by this time. The 1330 engine has been around now for 10 years and the 998 for both Aprillia and Early Can Ams much longer and there is no real alarm being sent up about oil pump failure for either motor.

Does anyone leave the parking brake off during winter storage? And some rodent protection discussion...

I always engage my parking brake, and leave it engaged until I am ready to ride again. Never even entered my mind that I should not leave it engaged even during winter parking. After 13 years my cable has not stretched appreciatively.
