• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone else had an Oil Leakage Issue like this?

Hopefully, they get it this time. This time, run around the block and check it yourself before you get too far down the road. I always recommend customers check work done (if possible) as soon as possible. That goes for our shop too. The sooner a problem is caught, the better. If nothing else...

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

I'm not sure how important this is with modern vehicles. The theory being that when you strap the vehicle down, it can put tension on the transmission, and this can vary as the suspension works during transit. I leave my manuals in gear and pull the clutch in after everything is secured to...

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

Tow Rings are very nice. Keeps all the hard parts away from paint/chrome, etc. Easy to install, easy to hook and unhook, and very reliable.

Battery Query - Does the Can-Bus system cause a battery drain?

I've gotten more than 5 years out of them. But it depends a lot on the way they are used and the environment they live in.

Is this High milage? What should I expect?

Take care of it and it will run like new at 100k. Mostly regular maintenance items. Nothing surprising. Tires, brakes, brake fluid, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, (possible injector clean), coolant. Keep the radiators cleaned out.

2018 RT sporadic upshift issue - any suggestions?

The handlebar cluster is many times the culprit. There really isn't any cure (that I know of) for that other than replacement. It can also be faulty shift servos, though this is much less likely.

Severe Front end wobble while braking at slow speed - anyone else? Any thoughts?

Generally true. But steering can be a 'Threshold' system. Works fine up until it gets just past the point where, under certain stress, it starts to give issues. Or, a single pothole, etc, can create an instant problem. Tires/Wheels Tire cord separation. Probably not because it should give you...

Battery Query - Does the Can-Bus system cause a battery drain?

If you purchase a 'BS' version, (Bottle Supplied), it will come with a dry battery and a separate ACID container. These are the batteries we purchase because this will give you the best performance and longest battery life. A battery in this state will maintain 100% efficency for an unlimited...

Can I Replace the oil sump pan on a 2019 RT Limited or does the dealer have to do it?

I would start with some vice grips, if you can get them on the head. If a standard pair won't work, try a needle nose version. Pull down hard while turning. If you're lucky, that will get things started. If you pry, be carful not to damage the machined gasket mating surface on the pan.

Can I Replace the oil sump pan on a 2019 RT Limited or does the dealer have to do it?

Having to remove the sump pan is a Very Bad Day. There are a good number of alternatives to fixing a drain plug before going to this nuclear option. It sounds like the drain plug is stripped to where the threads aren't biting enought to go in or out. If this is the case, you need to get...

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

Synthetic blends are almost always 90% standard mineral oil with 10% non-true synthetic (mineral oil with an additive package). It's more marketing and profit margin for the seller than it is a valueable upgrade for the user. I compare it to getting a bottled drink that is 90% tap water and 10%...

When is the Price of gas going to stop rising?

I'd say it goes both ways. They added $200.00 to my anual regestration fees for my e-Golf because I no longer pay gas tax. At least when I was paying gas tax, I got something for it. So, I'm paying gas tax now whether I get any or not.

When is the Price of gas going to stop rising?

Electric cars will probably come back into vogue if fuel continues to stay high. I have a friend in San Diego that has been sitting on several electric cars waiting for this very scenerio. He's the only person I know happy that prices are going up and hoping that they keep going.

Could disconnecting the positive terminal of the battery for a few days cause any problems?

There is another reason for disconnecting the negative cable first. When you disconnet the positive cable first, or connect it last, you can get an arc of energy as the battery post and cable come into contact. This has the potential to damage sensitive electrical components. This same order...

When is the Price of gas going to stop rising?

We did the same thing in California. Odd/Even license plate. We could be there again if we are not careful. We haven't built a refinery in the USA since 1977. And, for the most part, we can't even refine the oil we produce here. America produces some of the highest-grade oil in the world. It’s...

When is the Price of gas going to stop rising?

There is much more to all of this than meets the eye. Most never consider the big picture. What $1.00 would purchase in 1900 requires approximately $39.31 to carry away the same items today. What we have here is the cumulative inflation rate of 3,831.11% over these 126 years. (Yes, that's...
