• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear tire options - any suggestions?

Trouble is the Kenda is not true to the nominal size. We sell and install Yokohama ADVAN 205/55R15 and they are exactly the same outside diameter as the oem Kenda and less than 1/8" narrower. You have to compare actual dimensions, not nominal size because like every other specification, junk...

Battery Query - Does the Can-Bus system cause a battery drain?

Yuasa Factory Activated batteries have date code on them. You can see exactly how long its been since they were activated. I have never gotten one in that was more than 90 days old. Usually less than 30.

Complete BUDS3 V800 kit now available from PowerSports Diagnostics

BUDS2 works just fine on 2026 Spyders. For independent shops, the update is not yet mandatory. The new interface module is also VERY expensive. Its not just a software update.

Anybody replaced the rear tire on their Canyon yet? If so, with what?

We sell and install Yokohama tires. For the Yokohama, an ADVAN 205/55R15 is the exact same overall height as the oem Kenda 225/50/15. This will vary by brand and model tire. The size numbers are NOMINAL, not actual dimensions. 55 vs 50 are aspect ratios, not heights.

Anybody replaced the rear tire on their Canyon yet? If so, with what?

That is much taller than the OEM tires and would likely upset the VSS or ABS calculations and set a limp home code. 205/55 is the exact same as OEM height, 205/60 is already a bit taller.

What did you pay for your 9,000 mile service?

No, but if you have a warranty issue later, BRP will ask you to prove the service was done with receipts.

What did you pay for your 9,000 mile service?

Spark plugs are not due at 9000 miles. Not even close. Its just an oil change and inspections.

Looking for a 2008 GS Master Key - any ideas?

There does exist master keys for the 2008 thru 2013 Spyders. They are used to put the DESS into programming mode to learn a new key. Easily recognized because the head of the key is red. No longer available from BRP but a few shops including mine still have one.

Are these Dealer charges normal? Fair?

Be careful on your warranty start date. It DOES NOT start on the date it is first sold. Its starts on the In Service date. If the bike had 200 miles on it, it was likely a demo bike and was placed in service some time ago. Get the dealer to verify the in service date as that is when your...

Anybody else rounded off the hex Oil filter cap? Any tips to remove?

This can happen if the cap is installed dry. I have seen shops actually clean the cap with brake clean prior to changing the o-rings and leaves the threads completely dry. They then seize up with heat and milage and make removal very difficult. The cap threads and o-ring need to be wet with...

Bad news if you want a set of 165/60R-15 Vredestein Quatracs from tire rack!

They are VERY long lasting though. My last set went well over 70k miles and aged out. Were not worn out. I have 40k on my current set with lots of life left.

Has anybody figured out a way to reset CarPlay while riding? (‘25 Canyon Redrock)

This is only for the electric bikes, NOT Spyders which have Apple CarPlay support instead of BRPGO. Neither bike has both. BRPGO is NOT coming back to the Spyders. This is also NOT Android Auto. Android Auto is no longer supported or licensed for Motorcycles by Google. Honda and Harley have...

Is the Alternator shaft squeal just a nuisance, or is it damaging anything?

Well its my turn in the barrel with this alternator shaft squeal on my new 24 F3S. Going to try the different oil route first as its an easy solution. Never had this issue for 108,000 miles on my last F3 but BRP had to make the shaft drive 'better'. Without an official TSB on the issue, I am...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Count your blessings. That is one of the few jobs that is actually easier on your Vtwin than on the newer 1330 triple.
