• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    LaMonster Garage Contest 2024

I have bought numerous items from Lamonster Garage, but if I had to pick one item, it would be the oil change kits. They include a very good quality oil, filter, and all the needed o-rings.

Looking for proven Plastic repair methods?

look into a plastic welder/plastic staple machine. I have done numerous repairs on Spyder plastic body panels, including re-attaching broken-off tabs that the push pins go in. A decent setup will give you numerous staple options, including inside and outside corners.

Is there any way to tell if 2021 RTL needs a Software update?

Like most other computerized things, updates can apply to certain vin numbers only. IF a software/firmware update is required by your bike, it would show up when connected to, and be installed by, BUDS2.

Running 16" PPA Rims, any suggestions on where to get tires to suit?

Start here: https://www.tire-size-calculator.info/ Use your current tire size, and place different new tire sizes in the proper cells. This will give you a graphical representation of the size differences. Since tire size numbers represent a ratio, the graphics help to visualize physical size...

Do I really need to replace front & rear Brake pads together? Is BUDS necessary?

To answer the original question, no, you do not need to replace pads at all 3 wheels at the same time. I would recommend replacing both of the front wheels' pads together, though. Keeping the rear wheels' pads separate from the fronts. And, no, you do not need BUDS/BUDS2 to replace the brake...

If you are sure you need/want a new battery, why not call the storage facility office and see if you can have a new battery shipped to their office, so it will be there when you get there?

Show Chrome Fender Light wiring did not match harness colors!

You will find with most aftermarket electrical items that the wire colors do not match the factory wiring. It seems that the only common color they all use is black for ground! As it should be.

Fuse Block Receptacle pushed in. Suggestions?

The safest thing to do would be to remove the frunk. It's not really that involved. There are 4 bolts on top, and 2 on the underside that need to be removed. If I remember correctly on your year, there are 4 electrical plugs to disconnect. On the left side, remove the clamp for the air intake...

Has anyone decoded the inflation chart for the F3T rear shock?

Not all that cryptic. Use the chart for pounds and psi. Example: If the driver is 200 lbs., and the passenger and cargo weigh 200 pounds, inflate the rear airbag to 70 psi. Here in the USA, we normally don't use Kg for weight, or bar for pressure. So the numbers you want to reference are listed...

Anyone else have this RT-L whine noise issue? Any advice?

I have a 2020 RTL that only made the whining noise after it was pointed out to me! After that, I could not unhear it. I replaced the front pulley with the white one, and have been noise free ever since. To be more specific, the noise was most notable at about 40-45 mph.

2024 RT Ltd display shuts off - back to dealer!

I used the Noco NLP20. it is much smaller than a stock battery physically. You must use the supplied spacers to raise it up for the Spyder clamp to hold it in place. Also, be very careful to put one of the included rubber pads between the clamp and the positive terminal. They are VERY close...

2024 RT Ltd display shuts off - back to dealer!

I've had quite a bit of experience with these cheap Chinese batteries. BRP switched to these from Yuasa batteries during the covid years. Unfortunately, you will not get more than 6 months out of one of these reliably. That just happens to be the warranty period on the battery. If you have a...

Anyone ever back-fed their battery maintainer thru a USB port?

If you've added power ports for heated clothing, you can backfeed the battery charger through them if they're wired (and fused) direct to the battery.

    Nitpicking the 2024 RT

I liked the new controls. The high beam switch is now where the former flash-to-pass/BRP Connect switch was. The big reverse button is gone, replaced by a more easily operated, smaller button. Rolling the throttle forward is the new "mode" switch. I'm still not convinced the touch screen dash is...
