• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New to Mesa AZ and looking for service 2014 Spyder RT. Any trusted dealers in the area?

I wholeheartedly recommend 2 Guys Garage. They have worked on my '13 STL and my currently owned '16. I have always been satisfied with the work, the price and the honesty.

Learning to ride this bike: my progress so far

Here is another. What RayBJ said is all true. But for those loooooong slow hiway curves, let the force push you out a little. That will put more force on your outboard arm and make the steering SEEM (it doesn't really change) lighter.

Anyone know what these things on the front wheels are?

They look like re-greasable bearing covers that you often see on boat trailers, but that is a guess.

What's the likely Cost Estimate to get 3 New Tires and Air Pump Replacement done?

As an FYI. I have an '16 RTL that I purchased 2 years ago, also in very good condition with 20K miles on the Clock. My tires were good but not replaced. I bought this from a dealer. I paid $12K including tax (which was 8%). I think your guy is high.

New Toy!! Picked up my 2025 Spyder RT Limited today!!

Ohhhhhh the color, the color. I have a '22 that looks very much like that and I love it. I think one of the doo-dads that I find the most useful is the adjustable windshield on the fly. I adjust on the fly as the weather dictates. Have fun.

Problem with trip meters - Regardless of which is selected, only No 2 shows on the dash! Any suggestions?

Well I found my mistake!!! PUSH the joystick in; then MOVE the joystick to the right, which will take you to the trip meters. Then to set the meter you want to show on the dash, PUSH UP! Sometime, when resetting the "B" trip meter, I pushed up and set it as the selected meter, but didn't know...

Problem with trip meters - Regardless of which is selected, only No 2 shows on the dash! Any suggestions?

To start, this is on my '22 RTL, which is Stock., with No mods at this point. I'm sure that I've caused this problem, but as I don't know how, I don't know how to correct it. I use both 1 and 2 trip meters. No. 1 to show daily mileage, and No 2 to show how many miles on this tank of fuel...

Is there a Dealer near Portland, OR who will install a Vredestein on the rear?

I won't even relay the horror story of a dealer who DID install a set of "something else" on my ST. Suffice it to say, I have found an independent motorcycle shop that now does all my service, tires included. I think you are going have to go that route. If you can and if they know what they are...

How different are the various V-twin powered 2013-2016 ST & RT models?

But if you spend anything on upgrades, start with a new sway bar. It really made a difference in handling for us.

If you had 4 days to ride in Michigan, what Must See Rides are there/do you recommend?

Without a doubt, the West side of the Lower Peninsula and the Leelanau Peninsula. You could spend the whole 4 days in  just the Leelanau.

How different are the various V-twin powered 2013-2016 ST & RT models?

OK. Gotta put my 2 cents here. I had a '13 ST-L from brand new until '22 when I traded it in with 60k miles. I loved ALMOST everything about the bike. But on at least the '13s, the suspension was waaaay too light. At that time, I weighed 145 and my wife 153. We were not over weight. Almost all...

Installed my Kuryakyn heavy Industries mirrors/Mirror extenders to get a better rearward view

And the aftermarket to the rescue again. Ain't it great.

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

I haven't had it done to my '16 or '22 RTL's. But I'm sure others have. What year and model are we taking about?

What was your best Upgrade/Add-on to your Spyder???

Hands down; Suspension. On a '13 ST, Elka stage 2 all around. On a '16 RTL I bought used, same brand fronts only. Second best, Baja Ron sway bar. Riding the '16 now. I don't ride hard and mostly 2 up, but it still makes a world of differencein both the ride and handling.

Vredestein tire sizes from their web site

I'm missing something here. I am going to order a new set of tires, probably from tire rack and I plan on ordering Vredstein again as I had good luck with them on other Spyders. I find the front size that I had before, 165/60R15 but am missing the rear. If I remember right, it was a 215/60R15...

Do you think we'll see Spyders with DCT soon?

Last year we bought a 2016 Hundai Tucson with DCT and their little turbo charged 4 cyl. Runs and operates great. Does shudder on takeoff though where my Spyder does not.

Not shifting into reverse - any ideas?

Thanks to Cadaverdog. I have been wanting an owners manual to my (purchased used) '16 since I bought it. I now have it. Thanks. All knowledge is on this forum.
