• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Confusing info in the users guide - am I missing something, or what?

What he said!!! The 2014 Operator's Guide was an abomination with such crappy proofing as a picture of a 998 V-twin dipstick for the brand new 1330 ACE engine. They can't blame such shenanigins on the languages.

Just When You Think You've Seen It All...

This past weekend I copied the data from various spreadsheets I have for the Spyder to the Service History app on my Zumo 590. Amongst the standard items I deleted from the history categories was any reference to chain lubrication, air filter cleaning and tire pressure checking because the last...

My Cruise control won't allow me to accelerate just by twisting the throttle - Is this normal?

Fly by wire, no mechanical throttle linkage to right twist grip.

Anyone tried to Waterproof an Ultimate Seat? Anything work?

Have you considered contacting Motorcycle Dave, http://www.motorcycledave.com, (209) 887-3283, and asking his advice? I have a rain cover for my OEM Comfort Seat, and while it's a mite of a PITA to put on it has successfully gotten me through some frog strangling rainy days.

    Scored a 2023 RT today!

Congratulations! Your new ryde isn't yet broken in. I agree with mecsw500 on the OEM exhaust; mine has done the job very well for almost 97K miles. Loud pipes save lives is one of those BS at the speed of light fallacies.

My wrench list - what do I need for front brake & wheel removal?

For removing the front wheel lug nuts I use a 6 point 13/16" deep socket; it fits the nuts exactly. I believe if you check the service manual for your Spyder you will find it is a 36mm socket to remove the rear axle nut; at least that's what is says for my 2014 (the same one to remove the oil...

Just sold my Harley and have follow up questions - what spec RT; Base, Ltd, Sea to Sky? Used, or new?

I agree w/- Ex-Rocket, most particularly if you have long legs. I liked the seating and ride of the F3 except the Tupperware abused the inside of both knees to the point of where at a 25 mile test ride I wanted off.

Thinking of switching to a Spyder, any others jumped from their Harley's to Spyders? Any advice welcome...

My story isn't important here, but if you are coming from a Harley you will have to remember not to have a death grip on the bars or you will initially think a Spyder was the worst mistake you ever made. Do some research here to see how others who made the switch grew into the Y-ride. Good luck.

Worn seat - can anyone recommend a comfortable a/mkt replacement?

Since motorcycle seats are so ass-peculiar, a healthy test ride is mandatory, and I don't mean around the block, but at least a day-long jaunt. I don't in any way disparage any of the previously mentioned alternatives, but since you're from Long Island there has to be at least one if not...

    Life's Little Pleasures...

Being a parent is the world's toughest OJT profession. My dad, a giant of a man at 6'8", died 50 years ago when I was just getting to know him as an adult son. The accomplished Irish songwriter Phil Coulter says it all in his song, The Old Man.

    Life's Little Pleasures...

When I was stationed in Japan's 47th prefecture, Okinawa, from 1987 to 1990 there was an unwritten but almost guaranteed rule, red light plus three, meant when a traffic light had turned red, three native drivers would automatically go through it, no ifs ands or buts about it.

I want Spyder/Ryker/Canyon dealerships to succeed

Eleven years and nine montths ago I experienced an almost identical situation but with a Can-Am dealership less than four miles from my home and a second one 90 miles away. Local dealership was very helpful; let me take a demo ride of more than two hours and 50 miles but would not offer one thin...

Is there supposed to be a lift support for the drivers seat?

You made a good decision purchasing the Show Chrome support as it has more strength than the OEM one. I bought a replacement Show Chrome one when my original would no longer hold fully up my Comfort Seat at a refueling stop

    Found a 2017 F3S - Should I get a used one? Pros & Cons??

Recognizing you're new to the Y-ryding community and are wise enough to search for a previously owned vehicle so you don't take a big depreciation hit, Have you test ridden both an RT and an F3? I ask because in 2016 I test rode a brand new F3 at a rider demo opportunity. I very much enjoyed the...

This was Too Close to an 'accident'!

One week ago yesterday I was close to home on a fun 250 mile ride, in the middle lane of a three lane limited access road, maintaining safe distance behind the vehicle in front of me, and at or below the speed limit, when a cage in the right traveling at very slightly below my speed failed to...

How noticeable is the Engine heat: F3 vs RT?

While my 2014 Spyder is not the latest generation nor was the new F3 I test rode for 25 miles or so in 2016 but in both roadsters I've never noticed any heat problem on legs or feet. Caveat: I ride ATGATT year round. FWIW, last September I sold a Vintage 2004 Greenspeed GTO that I went to after...

Planning on riding Southern NJ to Raleigh NC (June '26) - Any Recommendations/Suggestions Please?

Life occasionally deals us a bite in the backside we can't get around. Part of the reason I bought my Spyder is my bride of now 62 years loves being outdoors, but her RA has so wrecked her feet she could no longer pedal our tandem bicycle as she had done for almost 25 years. I was able to get...
