• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    According to Shawn Smoak in his latest youtube video on the black brake fluid in a 2024 RT that he is working on, he mentions at the end that BRP is supposed to be putting out a TSB and sending dealers a tool to replace the discs on the alternator shaft. We shall see.

    I recently posted about my 2023 RT Limited having a chirp coming off idle which apparently is caused by alternator shaft. Ron suggested trying Amsoil 10w40 metric. Happy to report that after oil change today chirp or squeak is completely gone.

    It does have a new Yuasa battery, about three months ago. Was making the chirp before and after battery replacement.

    I have a 2023 RT that has the alternator shaft squeak or chirp when accelerating from a stop. When warmer weather gets here, I am going to change to Amsoil as suggested by BajaRon. Is this just a nuisance issue or is it resulting in damage? Only has 9000 miles but is out of warranty.

    Loose steering - what needs to come off to access the upper joint?

    I have a 2015 F3S with 50,000 miles. I have some looseness in the steering that seems to be from upper steering shaft joint. I have checked tie rods, pitman arm, and lower joint, and all are tight. Does anyone know what has to come off to get to upper joint?

    Sounds like a faulty purge valve. I bypassed mine as have others. After my wifes malfunctioned I eliminated it on my F3S as prevention from it happening to mine.

    Shaft drive is not the cure all some think it it is. I have been riding BMW's since the mid seventies. They require periodic spline lubes on transmission and rear drive or they will fail.

    Continental Contipro-Contact tires up front - what mileage is everyone getting?

    I have the continentals on the front of my F3S. Been in the mountains. All day hard rains and just about every condition. Have performed flawlessly. One has 1/8 ounce and one did not need any weights. Smooth as glass.

    Larryd is exactly right. MY wife and i both have 2015 spyders and both have had the exact same problem. Locate hose from fuel tank to purge valve on left side of machine. Plug hose going to purge valve and extend hose from tank to down underneath or toward the back so you dont get gas fumes.
