• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can I unplug the parking brake module - need micro switch part#

I have a new PB that I ordered when replacing the PB motor 3 weeks ago. New: the bag was opened to measure continuity while manually pushing the switch (the manual is a bit sketchy on which contacts are NO and NC). Part#: 710001379. BRP was $43.50. $35 shipped via USPS. If you want/need faster...

Compile a list of BUDS owners who are willing to help, by location?

Intermittent problems are always a challenge. The intermittent problem may not have tripped a code to read or display. As your machine has been ridden less than 1000 miles per year, if ridden every year. More than likely it has sat for an extended period of time. If it was stored and the gas...

Compile a list of BUDS owners who are willing to help, by location?

I'm in Yuma through the weekend. (If you need BUDS, you're likely not mobile, so I may as well be in Florida.) That stated, I have BUDS/BUDS2 with the standard license. My skills are modest, with a lot of reference to the manuals. What do you need help with? Year. Model. Problem.

After 3 years of planning, I am riding Route 66 starting June 8

+1 on weather for temperature in the deserts. We left Flagstaff, AZ, in late June: it was lower 50's. By the time we reached the Colorado River, crossing on I40 down the mountain from Kingman, AZ, that day, it was 110°F! At 200-300 miles a day, you should be able to avoid mid-day riding. Have...

Need HELP?! My Spyder is running Hot at High Speeds?

Likely lack of airflow, as others have stated. If removing the auxiliary screen doesn't solve the over-heating, use a garden hose spraying from the outside inward to flush out the radiators: you'll likely see a lot of dirt, debris, bug remains, etc, pouring out the bottom of the front grill. DO...

2015 F3 S - are there specific locations the footpegs adjust to? How far back? What to look for in a new to me purchase?

That year didn't come std with a windshield, nor a rider backrest; those are in the plus side, although the crack may need attention. If the crack is more of a stress check near the mounting screws, it is likely stable. I had a similar issue on my CVO Road Glide that HD would not replace...

2015 F3 S - are there specific locations the footpegs adjust to? How far back? What to look for in a new to me purchase?

The rider footpegs are adjustable in 5 fixed positions along the frame rail. You can feel the locating holes on the inside of the frame rail: I believe about 2 to 2 1/2" increments, so +/- 5" from the center/standard location. There are OEM and aftermarket floor boards that use the same mounting...

Spyder decisions - any suggestions on what to buy as my first Spyder?

F3-S or higher trim level; we have -S, -T and -L models. 2015 or newer. With the -S trim and higher, cruise control is standard. You may get input on manual vs electronic shifting (a.k.a., semi-automatic). The electronic shifting is an easier ride and really doesn't suffer in performance: think...

What is the 'proper' method to secure a Spyder on or in a trailer for transport?

I've used this method for close 15+ years. E-track on the trailer floor, a simple wheel chock that is removable to facilitate loading, and two tie straps, one each around the frame tube near the bolted end near the main frame. With ratchet tie straps, pull down and back into the wheel chock. I...

Indian is getting into the trike business.

Indian claims to be the "oldest" American mc manufacturer. Although the brand name is old, they have far less continuous brand presence than H-D. They have been owned by more parties than Elizabeth Taylor had husbands and lovers. The dealer network is about as fractioned as the Spyder, meaning...

Need Guidance on Replacing the very bottom front Plastic Piece on a '22 F3 - anyone done this and what is involved?

I had a "bumpskid"; once. It came installed on a used machine. That is, until it caught on a RR crossing. When it tore off the 2015 F3, it damaged the two main blocks that the front end is built around and every piece of plastic to which it was attached. I don't remember the total bill...

When should you change your Spark Plugs?

I changed at ~38K miles: the electrodes were noticeably worn, with a huge gap, although the engine seemed to run OK. I'm glad I replaced them (I had pictures somewhere, but I can't find them at the moment).

How do I go about F3 top panel and cluster removal? Fitting Cruise Control to F3 Base...

BRP hasn't made aircraft in nearly 20 years. BRP parted from Bombardier, Inc., in the early 2000's. That stated, it still is a crappy way to attach a panel. I've broken the itty-bitty tab at the corner off of the panel, scratched paint, etc. In a new state, the tab will release easier. As soon...

How do I go about F3 top panel and cluster removal? Fitting Cruise Control to F3 Base...

I made this tool and posted a while back to remove the Top Panels around the console. I would add to spray a little Windex, soap, or plain water into the area: road grime will add friction against the tabs flexing: https://www.spyderlovers.com/threads/removing-top-panels-a-tool.140336/ The...

Anyone running or tried BUDS on MacBook (Pro)?

Update: installed Parallels on my MacBook Pro with M3 silicon, WIN 11 Pro, and connected the BUDS system. The downside is that Parallels requires a fully legal WIN install. I was trying to transfer the license off my older MacBook with Intel silicon, but didn't want to jeopardize getting it...

Deer collision - safer on a Spyder? Thoughts? Or first-hand accounts?

Way late, but there seems to be some active discussion, and with the deer rut in full swing, that seems timely. It depends on the strike and whether damage to the machine or person is the focus. A three-wheel machine will likely be more stable with less required expertise of the rider. However...
