• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What kind of Canyon Rear Tire Life are you seeing? What Replacement Options are there?

I replaced the rear tire on my Canyon last week at 8,400 miles. The stock tire would probably done 2K more but I have a 5,000 mile trip scheduled next month. Based on recommendations from this forum I selected the Vredestein Quatrac in 205/60R15 (mainly based on resistance to hydroplaning)...

Any thoughts on this VSS Error & Limp Home Mode? Possibly the battery??

I had a similar event with my new Canyon. VSS fault and limp home mode (limited to 70 mph). I realized my new boot was resting against the brake pedal while I was riding and giving it throttle; confusing the ecm. I rode about 20 miles at 70. Stopped briefly and shut it down, and restarted...

    Is this a rebranded Haijiu? (F3-S 2026)

My 2025 Canyon came with the same battery as Greer. I have had it now for 13 months. I do use an Optimate maintainer when the rig is not ridden but in 8,500 miles I have had no problems. I mean it has a horse on it; what could possibly go wrong?

What did you do to your Spyder today?

After reading all the warnings on this forum about needing an emergency seat release I tried to think of an easy way to do it. I wound up riding to Bass Pro Shop (any bait shop would work) and bought a set of 9" stainless wire leaders. They have a snap on one end and a swivel on the other. I...

Anybody replaced the rear tire on their Canyon yet? If so, with what?

As it turns out I had the Vredestein Quatrac 205/60R15 installed today. I had a 100 mile ride to our club dinner meeting this evening and the new tire did just fine. It is slightly larger in diameter (taller) than the 225/50R15 and slightly narrower. Nothing rubs and my speedo now matches the...

Anybody replaced the rear tire on their Canyon yet? If so, with what?

I currently have 8,300 miles on my Canyon and the rear tire is at <5/32". I am scheduled for a 5,000 mile trip in June and I don't think the stock tire will make it (particularly if it rains). I have ordered a Vredestein in 205/60-15 but I wondered if anyone has tried something else and if...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Well, technically yesterday. I ordered a Vredestein 205/60R-16 to replace the rear tire on my Canyon. At 8,300 miles I still have 5/32" tread depth on the stock tire but I am leaving next month on a 5,000 mile trip from Texas to Vermont and back for the BMW MOA rally. Should arrive today.

Has anybody figured out a way to reset CarPlay while riding? (‘25 Canyon Redrock)

I have found that with my 2025 Canyon the orientation of the USB-C end of the cable to the phone matters. I did not have this problem until I traded my Iphone 14 with a lightning connector for an Iphone 17 with USB-C. The cable I am using is rated for data transfer and has the company logo on...

Any suggestions on how to get the dipstick out for Checking the Oil on a Redrock?

I have found that the dipstick on my Canyon is difficult to rotate with just my hand due to the limited access; even with the panel removed. I use a small wrench to rotate the yellow dipstick top until it passes the tight spot; then remove the dipstick as normal. It does seem unnecessarily tight.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Took my Canyon to Aldi and filled up the side bags with the weeks groceries. It's funny how people look at all the stuff in my cart and then are surprised when it all fits; several have commented about it in the parking lot. I tell them big stuff in first, small stuff packed around it. I...

Took delivery of my Canyon Base

Congratulations on the cases; it sounds like you scored! Having them in reconditioned appearance just removes some of the anxiety about the first scratch. I've always had a function over appearance attitude about my rydes. If they haul stuff without leaking they are serving their purpose.

Does a first service/oil change at 500 miles sound "normal" for a 2024 RTL

Good information Ron. Not having to carry the 5 would make my math even easier.

I just did a Software Update on my new 2026 S2S!

Was the update newer than the V4.1 provided last year?

Does a first service/oil change at 500 miles sound "normal" for a 2024 RTL

I had the dealership change the oil in my 2025 Canyon at 1,000 miles. They asked why I wanted it changed before the 3,000 mile recommendation. I explained that I was about to leave on a 2,000 mile road trip and wanted so start it with new oil. They complied. I just completed the second oil...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I went on a 250 mile (round trip) ride to lunch with the local BMW club on my 2025 Canyon. When I got back I did the 7,500 mile oil change. I had the dealer do the first change at 1,000 miles because I was leaving on a long trip but this was the first change that I have personally done. I used...

Your Weather News @ March Edition 2026

The prediction for this afternoon is 84 degrees with a heavy South wind. In the morning, it is going to be 34° with a strong North wind. I'm glad I'm not on a long trip trying to get home.

Anybody see a measurable change in fuel mileage with larger diameter rear tire?

Really the fuel mileage was more of a curiosity for me. The Canyon already gets better fuel mileage than my Ryker Rally did. Replacing the OEM tire with the Vred is (for me) more about wet weather control and durability. I have experienced the tarstrip hop and rear tire fishtail with the OEM...

Anybody see a measurable change in fuel mileage with larger diameter rear tire?

I am considering changing the 225/50-15 OEM tire on my Canyon to a 205/60-15 (probably Vredestein) before a long trip this summer. I was looking at data on an on-line vendor where I could compare specs from the OEM to the larger diameter Vredstein. Apparently the narrower/taller replacement...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Well, actually it was yesterday that I mounted the Seth Lamm seat on my Canyon Standard. However, today was the first ride. Feels pretty good and looks great.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I shipped the stock seat for my Canyon to Seth Lamm for a comfort upgrade. I have an upcoming 5K trip in mid summer I want it to be as comfortable as possible.
