• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RTL - brake pad replacement intervals. Just replaced my pads at 21,000 miles. Is this a fair mileage?

Just replaced the stock pads at 29K. Fronts could have gone longer, rear was getting too close. Replaced with EBC pads. Flushed the fluid while I was there using the Phoenix system, first time, was at 3%, had checked it in the past. Activated the ABS a few times, then flushed again. New front...

Does anybody use a GPS Tracking device for monitoring their Spyder's location?

I have had good luck with the Apple AirTags . Keep one on the key ring and have a floater I keep on whatever vehicle I'm in

Does anybody use a GPS Tracking device for monitoring their Spyder's location?

Twice for me, once in LaPaz Baja, forgot to lock a saddlebag, they stole a bag of dirty laundry and 1 pound of jerky; years later on Hwy 1, depressed town in Oregon, I had a bag strapped on my rear trunk, they cut it off. Around a $500 loss. Nice hotel, still had dirtbags in the area. I've since...

Strange fault code at start up - P0135 - any ideas?

OK, update is, it sat off the tender for 4 days, Battery voltage read 12.2, with a load, read 11.1. Started fine, but engine check light stayed on and limp mode warning came on. Checked fault code, and says, P2135. There is a possibility this is what it was before, as I was out in bright...

Strange fault code at start up - P0135 - any ideas?

I probably would not either, even though I can ride 360 days out of the year, but I have 6 cycles I ride, so it's a habit to plug each one back in when I get back from a ride.

Strange fault code at start up - P0135 - any ideas?

I do appreciate the responses here! I did a load test, and was fine, but has also been on a Battery Tender since my last issue. I have a better unit, Nocco brand, 3 amp and a switch for AGM, conventional and Lithium. I have multiple vehicles and use both BT and NOCCO brands. I do believe you get...

Strange fault code at start up - P0135 - any ideas?

Thank you, now to figure out if it's worth hauling it the 120 miles to the dealer, mess with the extended warranty, or just buy it and do the install myself.

Strange fault code at start up - P0135 - any ideas?

Twice now, weeks apart, when I start the bike, engine light stayed on, then the limp mode warning. checked the codes, and P0135 came up. Cleared, then all is fine. I usually leave it on a Bat tender even when it's being ridden on a regular basis. Both times it was not, but only sat for a few...

Alternative heated gear that looks promising?!

I still use a Widder vest. It does the job well and does not take up a lot of space when packed.

Contemplating buying a Spyder - any reliability, power, and buyer's remorse issues?

Like others have said, Spyder handles a lot better, but still enjoy having both. I do like the fact that the HD is easier to work on along with being more familiar

Contemplating buying a Spyder - any reliability, power, and buyer's remorse issues?

My RTL is a '21 with 22,000 miles. Originally bought it for my wife, but I ride it more often. Did take a little getting used to, then later, not an issue. I still ride 3 different bikes daily, another 4 on standby, and a Harley Freewheeler. I never have to re-learn on what bike I'm riding which...

Any feedback on aftermarket seats - Ultimate vs Corbin?

I had a Russell made for mine. I currently own 4 bikes with one. 25+ years and over 300K miles, they still work for me

    Zumo 660 vs zumo 665

I know this is old, but I'll still respond.......I still own a 665 with an active lifetime XM subscription. It's the last GPS Garmin made that will do Sat radio. I use it along with my XT if I'm doing a remote ride. Mexico, or Alaska. I still have a BMW GS along with my RTL. Anymore though, by...

Anyone else got water in the battery area?

On my 21 RTL, I discovered I did not properly instal the cover in the Frunk, and water was coming in from the back side when washing. Easy to do......Take a closer look!

    Who Uses Shell Rotella T-6

I've been using 15/40 in my Cummins diesel, my Toyota FJC, and my non-Harley cycles for some 20 years. When I read it was compatible with my RTL, it was a no brainer! I get it at Walmart and Amazon via 1 gal jugs. For a time, I could only get it at Walmart in a 5 gal container. A little more...

Best seats - are Russell Day Long seats REALLY that good?

Since I last posted on this was back in 2022. Last December, I was going to do a ride in to Mt Shasta for my RTL seat. At the last minute, a freak storm blew in , so the wife and I decided to pull the seats and drive up. It's like 500 miles from where I live. I was able to drop it off the...

Need to modify driver's seat on 2023 RTL - anyone made theirs comfortable?

Another vote for a Russell Day long. I own 5 street bike with a Day Long, and over 30 years. Not cheap, but you only do it once

What should I look for in a mesh jacket? Any Pros & Cons?

Riders should be aware that nylon and polyester have a low melting point and can give a rider a false sense of protection. I have seen pictures of cheap jacket material when it has melted into the skin during a slide. A real mess for the ER folks to remove. I wear a Vanson perforated jacket with...

Is Lamonster Windshield Cleaner still available? What else won't hurt the windshield?

I don't know of any product that works better than Plexus. Been using it for 20+ years. Expensive, but goes a long way

Any suggestions on 2022 RT Limited GPS mounting? Wiring? Pictures? Supplier?

Here's my set up. Zumo XT wired into a fuse panel. Also feeds 2 heated vest and my battery tender connector. I have since upgraded the Zumo mount to the Tourtech locking mount. Not cheap but great piece of mind. I still bring it in at night if on the road. The phone uses the USB connector in the...
