• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Front end shaking

I would also look at tire balance issue. Mine did the same thing when I replaced the fronts and used Ride-on to balance. First time out did this for about .25 miles but came out of it and now smooth as silk.

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

We all should be having our oil analyzed more often. Much like going to our doctors for our yearly check ups. They caught my problem with routine tests when I did not have any symptoms. Years ago I had my oil analyzed when I was using the recommended oil change kits from BRP which showed the...

Thoughts on my first SS1000 with the Spyder

Yeah, these things are not very aerodynamic. When I did my SS1000, I got 38.25mpg but I stayed at the speed limit for the most part all the way. My route was due west for approx 650 miles and I got 36.40mpg with a somewhat brisk side wind. When I turned north for the remaining 350 miles I got...

What is this head sensor for - oil, coolant, head temp? Any ideas/help?

What does the manual call part 36? Just went to can-am parts house and 36 is indeed your temperature sensor. That should only monitor coolant temperature.

What is this head sensor for - oil, coolant, head temp? Any ideas/help?

Why don't you disconnect it and see what no longer gets monitored? From the picture, it looks like a coolant temperature sensor. If so, I suspect your valve cover gasket is seeping oil and some is collecting on the sensor.

Do you need to remove the rear tire for Rear Brake Replacement?

No. Just remove the caliper. The piston needs to be turned in to make room for the new pads. Do not use a c-clamp to push the piston back in!

Is this High milage? What should I expect?

Mine now has 76K+ and runs as good as it did when I got it. Only problem was a faulty cam position sensor and the front sprocket recall! The cam position sensor was a known problem on certain years and the part # was changed to a new number. Maintenance done by the owner's manual schedule and by...

HCM filter change, now in Limp Mode with Engine & VSS Lights - anyone else? Any solutions?

Start it up and make sure the low oil pressure light is not on. Shift a couple of times from 1st to rev. Take it around the neighborhood and see if the warnings go off.

When is the Price of gas going to stop rising?

Oil is a commodity so supply and demand forces are the dominant forces that come into play with pricing. Higher prices force conservation. I was stationed in NJ with the Army during the embargo and at that time they used an odd/even license plate number for days when you could buy gas and long...

Is the fuel gauge accurate on an F3?

On my 2016 RTL, when the gauge starts into the red, I get the low fuel light. It has been very consistent over the life of the bike. If I fill as soon as the light comes on, I can squeeze in 5 gallons. Mine has a 6.9 gallon capacity. No MPG or DTE on my display that I have ever found.

MPG dropped after a cat delete install - any ideas/suggestions?

I ride year-round and time of year makes a difference for me. Worst month is December at 35.91 MPG and best month is June at 38.77 MPG. I suspect that a portion of the difference is due to shorter trips/less long-term cruising.

What am I getting into - replacing the Steering shaft?

Why do you need to replace the steering shaft? Is this a wear item or damaged?

MPG dropped after a cat delete install - any ideas/suggestions?

The only time I see a large variation in gas mileage is tank to tank. I never trust the computed MPG on any 1 tank as there is too many variables. How full you filled the last time and how full you got it this time. Driving conditions caused by the wind make a huge difference and speed traveling...

MPG dropped after a cat delete install - any ideas/suggestions?

My experience with the CAT delete is I put 21,748 miles with the CAT and MPG was 37.39. After the delete and 49,297 miles the MPG for those miles is 37.90. Only engine upgrades has been the K&N air filter and Ron's spark plug recommendation. Other changes are Vredesteins, and Sway bar. I...

My Spyder is on the way!

Congrats! I see you just recently joined Spyder Lovers. Do you have any experience with these machines? No problem if this your first, they're pretty straightforward. How about service records? Let's get the maintenance up to date. We would love to help you walk through that. She should last you...

Tires rated worst and best. Two tires commonly used on Spyder's are noted

I was pleased to see that the Vredestien tires rated well but I don't think that is the most important reason why I think they work so well on the Spyders. The ones I run are directional with a very aggressive V pattern to the tread. In wet conditions water has a channel to flow to the outside...

2010 RT turns over, but won't start - Any thoughts before I trailer it to the dealer?

With the key on see if you have voltage feeding that fuse.

2010 RT turns over, but won't start - Any thoughts before I trailer it to the dealer?

Won't start without fuel. Kinda strange... how about rodents? They like wires!
