• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

Have you done an oil analysis? I'm running the Ultra1Plus oil now, and have about 3,000 miles on it so far. I'm planning to go to 5,000, and send in a sample to get a baseline on wear. For now, the oil still looks brand new on the dipstick. This is it's first change with this oil, so there...

Here is the Safety Data Sheet for BRP XPS Fully Synthetic 10W-40 Engine Oil

In my opinion the court did American consumers a HUGE DISSERVICE when they ruled in Castrol's favor, and against Mobil Oil, back in 1997. That ruling opened the door for all oil manufacturers to mislead consumers regarding their petroleum oils being "synthetic". 🤬 That's a case that needs to be...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I agree with mecsw500. 50 years ago we did 3,000 mile intervals on our cars, and I usually did 1,000 miles on my old bikes, but oil back then was conventional with far less advanced additive packages, and the air cooled engines ran drastically higher oil temps than the water cooled engines of...

Rear tire options - any suggestions?

I'm with you on not wanting a narrower or taller tire. Here are a couple alternatives which should stick quite a bit better...

Oil level over limit - does the factory or dealer do this?

You can also lay the dipstick on a paper towel to see where the oil level is.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I'd only run fuel under 91 when I couldn't get the recommended minimum. Sure, the knock sensor will detect your engine knocking and pull timing, hurting performance and mileage, but it cannot intervene until AFTER it detects knock. Each knock event can erode material from the pistons, and can...

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

I have those on my front shock mounts, and also run a threaded rod through my rear axle, and add another set of rings with large flat washers to tie down the rear. Easily removable when not trailering.

Severe Front end wobble while braking at slow speed - anyone else? Any thoughts?

This makes me suspect worn steering components. Check for any play in the steering system.

That is true. It's also prohibited to have more than one license.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

As I understand it, there is a federal requirement that requires all states to honor all other states driver's licenses.

    The 'Full Synthetic' Myth Exposed

I've been using Mobil 1 in most of my vehicles since the early 1980's. I remember the 1997 court case, and I was very disappointed in the verdict, and in Mobil's decision to change their formulation. I do still use it, as it's a very good oil, and has served my needs well. My daily driver Focus...

When is the Price of gas going to stop rising?

Oil is traded on the global market. Any reduction in supply affects the prices globally.

That sign also applies to Pennsylvania. Hint: We're all in the left lane because there are 10% fewer potholes than the right lane.

MPG dropped after a cat delete install - any ideas/suggestions?

Just a CAT delete shouldn't REQUIRE a tune, but a custom tune can take advantage of the reduced back-pressure. Disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes may reset the fuel trims to default, letting it adapt a bit faster.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Actually, the point just before the tire lifts is the limit. Once the inside tire is in the air, it moves your center of gravity up and out, reducing the available cornering force.
