• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am thinking about buying a Spyder Rt but a friend of mine took his 2025 in for the first service and the did a update on it and now his Apple Play doesn’t work and they can’t figure it out. Any one with issues after there first update from the dealer
Thanks in advsnce

I have a 2024 Spyder RT and regularly check for updates over a Wifi connection. Apple CarPlay didn't work when I first bought my Spyder, but did after a software update. It's worked fine since then.

Do you know what version of software your friend is running on his Spyder? I believe mine is 4.1.0

Even my new 2026 S2S needed the S/W update over Wi-Fi when I got it home. If it updates beware there are times in the update procedure when the screen goes black for a minute, several times. Just be patient and it will eventually spring back to life as the installation continues.

After updating to 4.1.0, as the latest, Apple CarPlay seems to work OK.

I just connect my rider, not passenger, Sena SRL-2 communications to the bike, along with the phone. I keep the Sena interconnect communications between rider and passenger so when I stop the bike and turn it off my wife and I can still communicate. I didn't think using the Spyder as the hub between helmets worked all that well. They say it's best to connect rider and passenger helmets to the bike and not to each other for best results, but it doesn't seem to be a problem for me, but then again I don't listen to music when I ride (my wife hates my choice in music).

I have a SENA 3S Plus headset in my helmet. It supports Bluetooth pairing to two phones and a "GPS" device. I paired it to my Apple iPhone, and used the GPS setting to pair to my Spyder.

It also supports intercom pairings, but since I ride solo I haven't done that.

Google found a copy of the manual for the SENA SRL-2 and it supports similar options.

I gust like my phone to go to the Spyder for Apple CarPlay to work on the touch screen. Then just pickup the output from that with the rider headset.

The whole Apple CarPlay thing in my eyes is a crap shoot! The way it interacts with the bike, then put a set of communicators in the mix, holly crap! I love it so much one of things I am doing for this year is putting a Garmin on my ride! I prefer working with satellites over cell tower, that's just my choice. ;)

I bought and used a Garmin Zumo XT when I first bought my Spyder, which was before CAN-AM got Apple CarPlay to work.

I have ridden in a deep, narrow canyon where there was no cell signal at all. Once out of the canyon it started working again.

I also went on a multiple day trip from Tennessee to Arkansas, and when I started back to Tennessee it wasn't working, but suddenly started working as I was riding along the interstate.

So yes, I still take the Garmin with me on longer trips.
