• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2018 RT sporadic upshift issue - any suggestions?

Hi, my 2018 RT Ltd has a sporadic upshift issue, i.e. sometimes I cannot engage First gear or sometimes shift up from say First to Second and so on. It will run fine for months on end, then come back to haunt me. Reverse is no issue; Neutral, when the engine is switched on is ok; but try to engage First gear, nothing happens! I have checked, the brake is engaged and lights up in rear. I have tried manually under the left foot rest as well. As I said it is sporadic. Any suggestion would be appreciated. I have cleaned the left controller as well.

How is your battery? When I had a 2011 RT, it started acting up on shifting. It was a weak battery that caused the problem.

rode to get a new batttery after a breif charge managed 3km then went into limp mode but got a new battery installed. had the original yausa which must have been 8yo I would say. I am second owner. Wow what a difference it has made. Cranks so much better and no shift issue. Well at least not yet anyway. have to say new to spyder world as of last year after having a stroke so did not know what was normal when cranking. I put it down to spyder quirks. thanks to all for suggestions. Glad to be part of the community. I Reside in Tasmania, Australia
