2009 GS Fuel Gauge not working, sender wiper not contacting - any replacements, substitutes, or other solutions?

Hello - my fuel gauge is not working on my 2009 GS. The issue is the wiper arm copper connectors are not making contact with the resistor board. It appears you have to buy the whole fuel pump assembly at $625.00 and Can Am doesn’t carry the wiper arm. Obviously, I don’t want to purchase the whole assembly for what should be a super cheap fix. I ohm'ed out the sender and could see it was not making contact. If I push on the contact, it seems to work fine. Anyone out there find a replacement or substitute that I can try? Anyone Frankenstein a solution? The connection seems very delicate and what I’m seeing out there in the used market for fuel assemblies is too risky and pricey to hope it will be ok.

Could be corrosion on the wiper or windings. Have you attempted to clean them? Using ethanol fuel and letting the bike sit can create this issue.

def cleaned with brake cleaner - the contact just isn’t being made. All tested out when lightly pressing on the contacts. Those contacts are very delicate. I have bent them and they seem to be making better contact and ohm readings are consistent. Gonna experiment with one more thing and toss it back together. I am a little dismayed you can buy parts for that unit.

Could possibly take it apart and put a dab of low temp silver solder on the arm so it can hit the resistor?
Good idea Mike - I ended up bending them and experimenting with printing a 3D part to help maintain contact. The fins are extremely delicate to say the least! Currently it seems to be Ok bent and will reassemble and test it out!
