• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone identify this exhaust system? (And how do I quiet it down?)

On the other other side of the noise coin, has anyone drilled out/modified the OEM 1330 muffler allowing a little more noise to escape? I did that on a Yamaha 600 mountain max years ago.

I can get my finger between the plastic brake part and the muffler so about 1/2". Maybe back to the high position
Most mufflers have a double shield to them that gives you a little heat shield affect. I would stay high myself; I like to stop when I want too much!!! 🙃

Just switch to the F3 muffler.
There's not much in it, just an empty chamber with packing around the perforated pipes.
Without the CAT, it sounds pretty good to me, but not obnoxiously loud.

It looks like the system you have has removed the catalytic converter and is now effectively a straight pipe. I am not surprised it is very loud.

I've kept mine stock and I think my neighbors with their young kids are probably appreciative. I've quit doing loud as I've got older.

If it were mine, I would probably return it to stock and if that is a bit too quiet for you, perhaps use an aftermarket end can. You might also quiet it down quite a bit by using a stock end can on the system you have. You might easily pick up other peoples takeoff parts and experiment a bit.

I've found being quieter flies under the radar and attracts less attention from the rozzers.
