Got a Spyder compliment today

This morning we delivered gifts for the children at St. Jude's Children's Ranch in Boulder City there were 6 motorcycles and my Spyder in the group. After playing Santa and checking out the car museum we rode through Lake Mead National Recreation Area to lunch. This is a beautiful ride with some nice curves and it is one of my favorite places to ride I was pleased that the leader led us on a spirited ride and we didn't have any pokey cages to slow us down.

There was a new guy, Bill, on the ride and after lunch he asked me about the Spyder and said that I was only the second Spyder he had ever ridden with. He said in his usual riding group there is an 80 year old guy who has a Spyder and he always lags behind the group. Bill said that he always wondered if he couldn't keep up because of the Spyder or if it was just the rider. He said after watching me ride he realized that the Spyder can definitely keep up!

there is a lot of groups that say trikes are in the rear

I say im on a Can-Am Spyder I lead the pack and catch me if you can :yes:

I know this is more about where trikes should be, but find a group that rides like you do. It is a very unsafe ride, if somebody is riding over their head to keep up with the ones in front, or being pushed by those behind them. Over the years, I have seen many crashes over this, some minor/lost pride, other "The funeral is next Friday" Best example, Deals Gap/Dragon

I agree. I always like to see whats a head of me .

I get compliments on my spider every time I ride. I got one today in the gas station. There is a lot of interest in the spider.

If you are riding in a group and you want to keep the group together, you always put the slowest in front, which sets the speed for the whole group . . . putting the slowest in the rear guarantees you lose the followers as they drop behind . . . . . . if you "push" the rider in front of you, you probably should not be riding in a group . . . :banghead:

I agree. I love that the Spyder makes riding possible for so many people. But I also love it when people who think the Spyder is not capable of handling curvy roads realize just how wrong they were!
