Is this Rubber band feeling from stop normal? Don't notice it again once started...

Wondering if this is just a quirk with these machines or if there is something not quite right with my 2024 RT Limited. When the machine is first being ridden for the day and I am pulling out of my driveway, I get this "rubber band" feeling where the machine does not take off smoothly, the engine yo-yo's up and down in revs slightly before things catch and I accelerate normally. I don't notice this issue once I have gotten past the initial acceleration from a stop. If it matters, I run Amsoil 10W40 and the Spyder has around 12K miles.

Mines like that from a dead stop. I hold a bit of brake as I slightly rev up and then release it.

Mine does the same thing and the colder the morning is the worse it bucks. I have a stop sign at approximately .2 miles. Smooth as silk every time when accelerating from it. I think the computer is searching for the proper fuel to air mixture initially.

Thanks for the responses - I am somewhat relieved that this seems to be the nature of the beast and not a repair bill on the horizon. On the other hand, you'd think that BRP would have this sorted out by now?!

Ease into the throttle until the machine is warmed up!

I am easing very gently into it I assure you. I always let it idle for several minutes while I put my helmet and jacket on and then take off very carefully. Actually the problem is made worse by doing this, if I grabbed a handful of throttle I think it would power through it but I am a fairly gentle rider.

The bike has to warm up, the oil is cold and the trans is sharing that too, so I guess we are all going through this issue, altho I don't remember it being so pronounced with my 2012 as it is with the 2025!

Try to keep the idling to a minimum. It tends to build carbon and can wash the cyclinders down with the rich mixture.

If you can, fill your (hopefully empty) tank with non-ethanol fuel (straight gasoline) and add a stiff dose (1/2 bottle - 8oz. from a 16oz. bottle) of Techron fuel additive. Do this again after running most of the 1st tank out. Doing this on a long distance ride works best. But any application may help.

Either of these products will do the job. If it's just a bit of carbon buildup and or minor to mild injector clogging, this may give you an improved experience on your cold morning startups.

Even if it does not resolve your problems, it is worth the effort.
